    Garrett Infinium LS

UPDATE: Emailed Garrett tech support; Infinium and Sea Hunt MKII coils are not interchangeable. Kind of a bummer because I was wondering about the larger mono for the ILS.

    Garrett Infinium LS

Oddly, I was about to ask about the 10x14 mono. Seems like I recall the Infinium and SeaHunter MKII use the same coils but wanted to run it by some of the old guard.

    AT Max

Thanks. I've been reading the manual, checking out youtube videos, and going through some of the back discussions in here. My brain is getting full and starting to hurt... :)

    AT Max

Recently did the factory trade in for a new AT Max. Been playing around with it at the local park and already like it better than the AT Pro. I'm about to hit the US Gulf coast and want to try it out on the beach; some of the videos show it to be a rather decent detector even in the surf...

    after market waterproof headphones?

Can anyone recommend some good after market underwater headphones for use with Sea Hunter or Infinium?

Advice needed for 10 yo boy detecting.

OK, I think I know part of what happened then with tapatalk. It used to be a good app but lately it's been going down hill. I'll check out the Simplex and pass the info along to my friend. Like I said, I'm just not familiar with Nokta other than my small underwater model which I don't get to...

Advice needed for 10 yo boy detecting.

Did you use the tapatalk app? I got an email notice on it but could not open it and it does not show up in the webpage. I've been having problems with tapatalk and almost stopped using it. I'm aware of Nokta (Makro), the Turkish company but only started hearing of either a few years ago. I...

Advice needed for 10 yo boy detecting.

So, I'm always skeptical when VLF say they work in wet salt sand due to all the trade offs (too, my tendency is to compare to PI), especially since it does not have ground balance. On the other hand that does not seem like something Minelab would ignore. How does that work out?

Advice needed for 10 yo boy detecting.

A friend of mine asked for some advice on a detector for his 10 y/o boy (5 brothers/sisters and is in the middle.) From talking to the Dad, a VLF should work, the problem is which one. He's looking for something decent that will not break the bank but works well enough not to discourage the...

    New wet sand beach scoop...

4 year follow up: It's been working nicely although it is heavy and does not seem to be getting any lighter as I get older but I'm still able to handle it. After the last beach trip in the fall I discovered the collar (at shovel end) had a crack in it. Took a little research but I found the...

    Scuba Detector

Well, if anyone is still watching, I bit the bullet and got the Pulsedive. Only had it out twice, once snorkeling and once on scuba. It's a basic "beep and go" PI detector; when it finds something it beeps/vibrates which is really all you need underwater IMHO. The basic techniques for (old...

    Scuba Detector

So you have had good luck with the Nokta? I was watching some videos on it earlier, operation of the electronics looked almost identical to the Quest, the electronics seems to be the failure point. (Both times my Quest failed it was underwater so maybe it's not water tight.) My gut instinct...

    Scuba Detector

Anyone have any experience with the small handheld underwater SCUBA detectors, the ones roughly a foot and a half long? I got one from Quest that looks like an over sized pancake flipper. Worked pretty good the first hour or so but then crapped out. Sent it back, got another and now new one...

    ATX 10"x12"DD coil.

Any cutting/pasting involved or were the connections the same?

    Excitement...!

Had been reading a bit about aftermarket coils and wanted one to add some more versatility and life to the ATP. The one I wanted was the 15" Cors, I just didn't want it bad enough to drop over 200 bucks. In the mean time the wife tells me we accumulated a lot of shopper points and could get...
