4th trip to park, hit paystreak!

The ring might be gold plated, gotta check. The coin is from Spring 274 (edit) AD Milan mint (Ticino).Avrelianvs. Found the coins in a very steep area, almost wiped out twice, Adidas Trial shoes stick like glue.

:detecting:10 Grams .835 SILVER, only one of 25,000!!!

Two hours in an old park. Too hot to continue, but will return. The silver coin is a 10 Lire 1931 San Marino.

Dug these two coins last week.

Also did a quick hunt for Euro coins after a Celtic festival and dug up 5.85 Euros in coins.

I found this piece of gold, can't find info about the markings.

Anyone have a clue about the gold cutlery markings on this piece?

Still digging old coins. Hey, this is fun! :super:

If you know something about gold markings, check my post in the whatzit folder.

Mountain trip. Sluice, detector, pick. Should I bring all three?

If I manage to get at least 3 days off near the end of June, I'll be going up in the Alps. There are mountain creeks, a river, WW1 trails, and a mountain full of blue mineral specimens in the area I'm interested in. Should I fill a backpack with all the essentials to do all three, or should I...

Been a while since I posted here in the find section.

Here are today's finds. I did a quick hunt after the showers and found a coin spill under almost 20 cm of clay. The coins are from 1894 and 1895. The cross is gold plated. The matt darkness at the top left was caused by the acid. :surprised:

    Your finds and personal notes.

Do any of you keep track of your hunting trips, with details about the location, date, weather, battery life, finds, and other information? I did when I first started and up until about 2 years ago, but now, I just go out and hunt. I think it's a nice idea, because then I can go back and read...

AT Pro Int. How to separate 04 from higher iron targets.

I'm back. Still been digging like crazy. Found alot of coins, medals, and more junk. Here's my question of the day: Since alot of steel coins and other objects read out at 04 on the screen, how can I discriminate to receive the 04 signal and avoid the higher 20-35 rusty iron targets? Is there a...

    Black caliper?

Maybe I posted this already. Does someone have a clue on what this thing is? The penny is shown for size comparison.

Yay! I got permission to hunt an old site burned down by the Huns.

As soon as it gets cool enough, and after some rain that will soften the ground, I will get out there and hunt the farmland inch by inch. :detecting:

Oxidized gold? Plus, today's stash of coins.:garrett:

I know they say gold doesn't tarnish, but lower grade gold like 10K or 14K most likely could. Has anyone ever found a gold ring which was heavily tarnished? Just to remain on-topic-to-forum, today I dug up three 5 cent coins Italian Kingdom. One from 1928, and the other two from 1942. Found...

AT Pro, a slice of sedimentary layers of soft rock (shale), and lots of sunshine.

Tomorrow I'm off to a huge cliff where I can see all the bent up and down layers of sedimentary rock. I already took some samples, crushed and panned, and found some magnetite and micron specs of gold. Using the AT Pro with the DD coil, what settings should I use? Should I just ground balance...

    Pittsburgh area detectors?

I might be travelling to Cranberry Township in the very near future (maybe even before Christmas) for business matters. If there's anyone interested in meeting up with me while I'm in that area, send me a PM and I'll keep you updated with more info. :twodetecting:

I'm off to a tiny beach later today during low tide.

I'm off to a tiny beach later today during low tide. I'm taking along a small shovel since the area I'll be hunting has very hard packed sand. Last week I tried an old beach which I cleared a few years ago. This was my first trip there with the AT Pro. It was very precise and quiet once after I...
