    After having the V3i upgrade I finally got everything adjusted where I like. The relic program is much better than the original. Got out to a new spot that was supposedly hunted hard. Doing a little local research the info told me that there was a confederate bivouac site somewhere in that field...

    Got it had to scroll up to get what I was looking for. I will say the 3 freq Relic program is much better than the old one ,Have to figure out that single frequency noise.

    I have had this thing for 2 1/2 years and finally decided to UPGRADE to the V3i, never had a problem finding stuff in the menu before the upgrade. Trying to get to expert menu screen that that allows live search screen adjustments. Read manual etc etc and only thing I get when I highlight...

    Daniels advice on settings for bad dirt are spot on. Use basically the same setup works great. One thing not mentioned is to ground balance OFTEN Watch the tracking arrows when they switch back and forth quickly your good

    No used the V same single freq 7.5 All metal not mixed mode ,no disc, 12.5 high band I did learn that nails down there will give you a solid +95 then jump to +83 nail everytime.     That is a good setup for that ground Very Similar to what we use in the same type of ground in Culpeper.

    Thats a good haul for your first time in that crazy dirt. I would not change anything keep doing what your doing. Just go slow.And check other peoples covered dig holes I found as much stuff in dirt piles as i did in the ground

    Rain and the V3

    Hunted 2 different times in the pouring rain with mine small zip lock bag will cover pod to be safe and a gallon ziplock and some duck tape will work on V3 and mxt.
