    20 years of wheaties

Well, if there are about 1000 wheaties at .03 cents that would only be $30. I'll hold em. I have some 1909 VDBs but no S mint marks. I also "had" a 1914 D but I sold that one on ebay along with some of the other key date ones.

    20 years of wheaties

Went through my jars full of wheaties and separated them by years. First pile on far left is 1909-1919, next pile is 1920-1929, next 1930-1939, next the big pile,1940-1949 and last is the 1950s. Look how huge the 1940s pile is. The 20s and 30s were tough times as shown by the amount of...

    Election day digs..

Hit an old one room school site that I'm sure has been hit in the past but I managed some stuff. Here is the pile minus the junk. Found a 1903 Indian and 4 wheaties. Oldest being 1909. Others were 1912, 1919, 1920. Cleaned up a bit. I like the two little pin thingies I found. This one...

    Did some Halloween detecting..

Hit a cool old home site. It was strange cuz I think half the yard had fill dirt. Usually when I dig up a 2 center there are indian heads and other older coins but nope. Bunch of modern coins and some older junk is all I could muster. The 42 Washington was a bonus. I like the leaf looking...

All this silver in one hole....

I have not been to an old home site all year. Haven't been detecting much at all, friend down the road called me up and asked if I wanted to go out detecting, yep. We hit an old home site and the first hole I dug, first came out the silver 1943D war nickel, cool, stick the probe back in the...

1st and probably last hunt this year. Not much but..

....was fun to get out. Just don't have the fire for detecting like I used to. It was fun to get out today. I have always loved detecting in the fall. Its old feeling out there, if that makes sense to anyone other than me. I went to an old fairground spot that I have been going to for years...

    Heart shaped heel plate...

My wife put a box under our bed of a bunch of old metal detecting finds that I had accumulated over the years. I didn't even know about it. Its been fun going through a bunch of these cool old odd ball finds. Anyway, I see this cool heart shaped heel plate that when I found it I remember someone...

This old button came outta the ground in great condition..

I had a small window of time between the rain this morning to detect at a spot where I gained permission. I get there and they have a garage sale going on so I will have to wait another day for that spot. Kind of discouraged because had my heart set on that spot. I decided to go to the same...

Not much but I'm proud of em...

Well, I went to a pounded out spot and was able to manage a couple older coins. 1929 Wheatie and a real nice 1880 Indian head. [attachment 333450 001.JPG] This 1880 is real nice. Full Liberty. Will clean up real nice. [attachment 333451 002.JPG] Not a hole lot but I was glad to be able to...
