    Unknown Symbol

I finally tracked down a legend from 1874 and it was a blacksmith shop! Thanks everyone for the welcomes and the ideas.

    Unknown Symbol

Thank you! Yes unfortunately there aren’t any symbols key to be found on the other pages I have seen. The only thing I saw remotely close was a gas station but in 1874 I don’t think that was in hot demand. :)

    Unknown Symbol

Does anyone know what this symbol means? It’s the circle with the cross inside. It is not a church as those are marked with another symbol. It’s on an 1874 atlas. Thank you!

    One Room Schoolhouses

That’s a bad problem to have! I hit a couple more one room school sites and found another MINT 1904 barber dime and no Indians!

    One Room Schoolhouses

Went to two new sites yesterday and pulled three beautiful Indian Head Pennies out, an 1868, 1886, and 1902. No silver today but I was thrilled with the Indians

Nice find! I just found my second ever in my 15+ years of metal detecting on Thursday. A beautiful 1900-s

    One Room Schoolhouses

Finally was able to find some silver for 2020. I spent most of the 2019-2020 winter researching old one room school house sites in an old 1928 atlas. My friend and I got out last Thursday 3/19/2020 and hit one of those sites. The school house is gone and a plowed field has replaced it. I...

    Large Unidentified Button

Yes that is a match! I clicked on the link but wasn’t able to find any additional information on the website? Are you able to see what years it was made/used/etc?

    Large Unidentified Button

I think you’re right. It is a two piece button. And it was found in a late 1800’s farmstead.
