    A Good Day.

Pulled 4 silvers today. The jewelry piece has no markings, but I am pretty sure it is sterling. I believe it used to be a pin, but the pin is gone, that may have been where the marking used to be. The Mercury dimes are both 1944 and the Washington is a 1945. These are the first silvers for the...

Starting the new year off right

Pulled this 1957 Washington today, hopefully this will be a good year. Only pulled 6 silver coins last year, which by far was the worst yet. Nothing like finding silver on the 1st day of the year.

    Wedding Band Returned To Owner

Was out detecting today going from park to park. I pulled up in front of this park in an older neighborhood and pulled my detector out of the car. A man who lives across the street started asking me about the detector. He said he had lost his wedding band 4 years earlier and had rented a...

Torn down house site nets a few goodies

Stumbled across a site where a house was recently torn down yesterday evening. Went there today to check it out. Could not tell where the house was or even the yard. The only lawn left was in the very front by the driveway. That was the only place that I did any good. Managed to pull a 1916...

    Possible Civil War Cannon Ball

Today i found what may be a Civil War cannon ball. I found it at an old farm house site. It measures about 2 inches in diameter and weighs around 1 pound. Don't know what else it could be other than a rusty ball of iron. I also found a 1947 dime, my 4th silver coin of the year. No picture of it...

    Silver and Gold!

Found the 2 mercs yesterday in a large empty lot behind a church in a 40s neighborhood, tried to find more today with no luck. Found gold instead. The mercs are pretty worn, i'll take them. Silver is pretty scarce around here and gold is even scarcer.

FINALLY! First Silver Of The Year!:yo:

This year is starting off real slow. Didn't think I would find any silver, but finally broke the curse when I pulled the sterling barette. Later on I was at an empty lot where they tore a house down. Only found 2 coins there so far, a memorial and a 1946 Roosevelt. May be something else there. I...

Nazi Merit Medal Found In South Carolina

Found this Nazi WWII medal on Friday. Was not expecting anything like this. It did have the loop still attached when I found it. I accidentally broke it off when I was straightening out the top portion of the cross as it was bent pretty bad. May have been a war trophy. Found it near Shaw AFB...

    Something from 1890

Found this odd item about a month ago. It is brass and had 2 pieces silver soldered to it. The open portion is the top. One of the things soldered to it has an eagle on it. I can't make out all of the inscription on the ribbon, but has "tory" above the right wing, possibly victory? Below the...

    A Little Surprize Today.

Got permission to hunt the yard of a house built in 1940. Pulled 2 silvers, a 1946 quarter and an 1876-A German 50 Phennig piece. Not sure why the old German coin would have been in the yard, but there is a military base near by. But for whatever reason it was there, I am glad I found it. That...

Never Thought I Would Ever Find One Of These!

Today was laundry day. When I go to the laundromat I always break out the detector while my clothes are washing. There are a couple of empty lots where houses had been torn down years ago. Today I went 2 lots down from the laudromat. I have detected that lot several times in the past. I got a...

Found A Few Keepers This Week

Pulled 2 Mercury dimes today, a 1941 and a 1944. They came from a vacant lot where a house used to be. For some reason I have never detected this spot even though I knew it was there. I also pulled 4 wheats out of there, 1919, 1925, 1945 and 1951-D. Earlier this week I pulled an advertising fob...

    New Oldest Coin!

Was detecting a lot where they moved an old house from, not sure when the house was built. They just turned it around and moved it to the next street over. Up by the sidewalk I found a 1936-D Wheat on top of the ground. A little while later I got a signal l thought was going to be a Zincoln, it...

    Saturday at the playground.

Went to a playground that I have not been to before. It is next to a church and appeared to be from the 70's. Was finding just clad, mostly memorials and dimes. Got a iffy signal that bounced around a bit and was showing at 10 inches on the meter. Dug my plug, the target was off to the side of...

    Possible connecting rod? For what?

Found what appears to be a connecting rod for something. I think it is made out of brass. It is 3 inches long and is 1 1/2 inches wide at the base. Anyone got any idea what this is from?
