    Detector prospector forums are closed.

You're obviously one of Steve's followers and have the inside poop , as I said , I haven't hit the site for years and am just going off what I read in the previous posts. My days of prospecting are decades in the rear and a lot of the info I saw on the site had a heavily corporate bias and the...

Toms forum had lots of good info as well , not sure if that is still available or not but looks like both forums are basically mothballed for lack of participation. Perhaps too much of something in one site and not enough on the other

Way too many sycophants and too much arrogant moderation over there for my tastes , I haven't logged in for years

Question about internal batteries on a metal detector.

Did Minelab void the remaining warranty when you replaced your battery or were already off it by then? That was a big deal when the 600 came out , do it yourself and the warranty is kaput. I have been running my Legend for several years on the internal and it always gets me through my short...

    A different kind of treasure

Cracks are like the scars in fine leather. Linseed would do it wonders especially if you can cut about half with terpentine and spray it on .

    Pennie’s, Pennie’s, Pennie’s…🤨

Geez , I have found dozens of silver rings in both the zinc and Cu penny range and this guy smacked a solid 40 on my Legend

    Question about unspendable pennies!

Easy to extract the zinc with a simple propane torch and a crucible if you want go to the effort. I take a few pounds at a time to the Coinstar that has coupons to a store I use and pour them through a couple of times. the ones that reject stay is the return for some kid to find and go nuts...

    Silver is Going Crazy!!

I hate to say it (not really) but I told you so . Silver will always please you on the upside when it moves but shock you on the downside when it corrects . Look at the move from 52 to12 not too long ago. Don't freak buy ,buy , buy!!!

    Got the legend..now some questions

For the most part my Legend is a comfortable machine to run with EMI being only a small issue. When it gets really chatty turning the sens. down to the mid 20s usually does the trick. I hunt urban environs in C 3 mostly with bottle cap adjusted to the number of drunks and inconsiderates who...
