    New 900 ... problem?

The charger was the problem. Used one with more current capacity and if topped the battery off to fully charged in about an hour. Problem solved and lesson learned. Thanks Dan (NM) ... you were right!

    New 900 ... problem?

I had it on an Apple iPad charger all night. This morning I connected it to a wall outlet charger. If it still dont fully charge by noon I will know the battery is bad ... :cry2: ... brand new machine just out of the box ... so sad.

    New 900 ... problem?

Just got my new Equinox 900 and placed it on charge overnight. The green light is still blinking this morning. Isnt it supposed to go solid green when the battery is fully charged? Do I have a problem?

First Hunt in about a year at the beach.

Well at 76 the E-Trac is getting heaver and I am starting to favor the lighter Equinox machines for the beach. But Im still kicking sand and sifting scoops and hope to be for a few more years. If you ever feel the need to get away for a while come on down to Corpus Christi Texas. Got a spare...

Just cant seem to part with my e-Trac ...

Have had the Equinox 600 for a few years now, just ordered a new Nox 900. But ... I keep coming back to my E-Trac. There is something about the E-Trac I just cant seem to put into words. Yes, it is heavy to swing and the display is dim and hard to see but the performance ... wow. First off it is...

Well here's something I just found out today when I called to get an update on my cz20 repair..

I like the CZ detectors. Had a CZ-5 for years. Have used CZ-20's in the water a lot and from all the testing I have done with my buddy and his Excalibur in shallow salt water neither of us could find a weak siginal that the other could not find. The CZ-20 and 21 is right on par with the...

Please list your favorite detector of all times

If it had a brighter (easier to see) screen display the Minelab E-Track would be my all time favorite. But for now "The Legend" seems to be my favorite detector to use. Mostly saltwater beach and shallow water hunting.

    Legends have defective speakers

Is it the speaker itself that goes bad or the electronics that drive it? If it is the speaker I would seek an quality replacement part and install it myself. If it is the amplifier circuit that goes bad then that is a different story.

    Andy’s Book

Printing user manuals is expensive and then there is the logistics of packing them in with the detector. Online offers two advantages. Lower cost and instant updating with new information. I understand this but still would rather have a hard copy manual to refer to.

    Andy’s Book

That makes as much sense as saying "read the manual ... dont read forum posts ... a waste of time". The manual covers the basics but there is always something new discovered by users.

    30 years ago ... Minelab Excalibur ...

When the Minelab Excalibur came out dealers were saying you could hear the difference between gold and junk. With the Ferrous and conductivity discrimination being refined over the last 20 years you would think that it would now be a possibility. Unfortunately it was not true back then and it is...

    My Perspective on the Legend

My opinion ... for what it is worth ... is that there is nothing wrong comparing any detector with any other detector. Who would expect a $600 detector to have all the features and work as well as a $1600 detector. Plus there is always differences in ground conditions and beach conditions that...

    Equinox 2 on the horizon?

Jan1 that is amazing you found lead but no gold rings. You were defiantly in a good spot and recovering from the right level. No way could it have been searched out. Luck has a lot to do with finding good stuff but being at the right spot sure helps. I would gladly dig lead over pull tabs any day.

Curb strips are still producing the silver!!

The best thing to do is not argue with a homeowner about it. Just say you are sorry and thought it was permitted. I go a bit farther and try to spark an interest by explaining my hobby and showing what I am finding. This has lead to permission to hunt yards in the past. I always offer any...

Is Metal Detecting on the Decline?

Hard to believe the market is that bad with all the research and new detectors being developed. One of the reasons I do about 75% beach hunting is that the schools and parks are about dry. What hasn't been found is now deeper down. At the beach there are fresh drops every weekend. I am always...
