    A new 1st in 37 years hunting

My first U.S. silver dollar. I heard they were out there, but up to now, that was just a rumor to me. o_O It looks like a lawn mower found it before me, otherwise it would have been in very nice condition.

    Old house hunt

Thanks, it would be close. I need to get a better picture to show it off. It is a little better on the obverse than photograde XF-45 but slightly less detail on the reverse. A pretty one for sure no matter how it's graded.

    Thanks for the kudos.

    Old house hunt

One more trip back to the old house. 1917 merc, 1927 wheatie and a safety patrol service award badge.

    Old house hunt

Another trip back gives up some more goodies. The 1919-s merc is much better than the picture shows because it is still wet but grades out a solid XF-40.

And Here's My Take At The Old Place

Some very nice finds and yes, "you still have it"

    DFX300 setting help

You want to cover as much area as you can so a larger coil should be used. The program should not matter, just make sure whatever you use will accept the target. If you have a sample of what you are looking for, you can discriminate out targets below and above the target range. I would suggest...

    Old house hunt

Nancy and I have managed to get out a couple of times so far this year and have found a productive yard that is giving up a few goodies. This is what I found yesterday.

    Hello Everyone!!!

So nice to hear from you Jeff and we too have been out of touch with detecting. We hope to get out ourselves. Hope family is well and stay safe out there.

    Dfx coils

You do not need a V rated coil unless you are using a V series, three frequency detector. Even then, you can get by without a V rated coil if you are not using the 22.5 frequency. In short, a V rated coil is nulled for three frequencies whereas the non V coil is nulled for two frequency...

    whites mx sport

Congrats on the big silver. All to often users of all brands don't give newer detectors a fair chance. I'm glad you are liking the MX, it is supposed to be a good one.

    Welcome back

Hi Flintstone I don't know a lot about the DX7 since I have been out of the market many years now but it looks to be the digital version of the MXT with added features. The biggest advantage of the MXT, IMH is it was an analog detector as far as the audio system goes, which means the audio was...

    new digger found

I wish I had the time to go hunting, busy season for me, 7 days a week this time of year. Digging iron is fun when the silver isn't jumping out at you. Some interesting finds Steve. Sure sounds like you are in the right spot Daryl, good luck.

    Still here, just frozen too

The DFX is a great jewelry machine but mine is long gone. I helped White's with the V3 and V3i and I had to use those of course :D. I have since become a deep silver hunter and now use the Minelab CTX 3030. Nancy says HI and she still uses her MXT.

    Still here, just frozen too

Hi Dean, nice hearing from you. Elton, RIP saved a few of my posts on the old forum but they did not make it here on the new forum. Here is a link to all that is left of the DFX forum. They are the 3,4,5,and 6 pinned posts at the top. https://archive.findmall.com/list.php?31

Nancy has pointed out a couple of houses she would like to hunt, but it looks like maybe March before we can get out.
