    Thanks for sharing that tip on hunting in the big iron. If you don't ever get fooled on round iron or a bolt, you are bound to leaving some good nonferrous targets in the ground.

    Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. The update went smooth for me and so far I've been pleased with the V1.0 enhancements and performance, but I know that hasn't been everyone's experience. I found that it is definitely NOT like running V7.1 and I've had to adjust my programs accordingly.

    Mi-6 Delay on D2

    I think Rogue may be on to something. I'm usually out detecting in the middle of the woods and there is almost no lag. 1 second tops. Find a "quiet" place and see if that makes a difference.

    Interesting observation. Not sure what is going on there Gaz. I've never used notch with IAR. When I used IAR of less than 4, I found it let too much iron through for my liking.

    X-Y screen user opinions please?

    I like the XY screen and use it 95% of the time these days. For me, audio rules when it comes to dig or don't dig, but the XY helps me confim my decision sometimes. To me it gives me more info than the horseshoe when it comes to IDing iron.

    New to the XP Deus.

    I took to the D1 right away. The settings just seemed to be more intuitive and I learned quick. If you wanted to, you could just stick with the stock programs and still do great. Are you getting a D1 or a D2?

    New to the XP Deus.

    Chris, I went from a Whites DFX to a Deus 1 some years back and then to the D2 a couple of years ago. You will be amazed at what you left in the ground with your old Whites machine. I loved my old DFX but the Deus platform is just superior. Happy hunting!

    That is correct, the D2 has only 7. The D1 had 9 character slots. Losing those 2 letters bugged the heck out of me ! ;)

    Upgrade to the Deus 2?

    I was a D1 user for 7 or 8 years and was very proficient with it. Got the D2 about 18 months ago and have zero regrets. As the Colonel says, it outperforms the D1. The multifrequency platform will bring life back to your old pounded sites.
