CTX3030 Target ID chart for 4 modes

Hmmmm.... dug a war nickel at 8" today. Deep off, fast on, long tones, Ferrous: 12 16.

Met an old-timers grandson who shocked me!

Well, most of the low-hanging fruit is gone. That dirty SOB (lol), Ron, myself, and two other guys have pretty much cleaned it out, even of clad. Every now and then a pig finds a truffle, but he has to work for it. I haven't found silver in the last 5 outings. We have found a few rings and...

    Gb and nc after changes

I bought it used, 2.5 years ago.

    Road trip iowa

Doc's harness came with my ctx-- my gal uses it. She puts on a backpack and hooks it on to a d ring. I've tried it... it works.

    Gb and nc after changes

Crap! Mine had been ground balance enabled, since purchase. Double crap!

    Equinox getting dumped

@Bo-- my kid does very well with his ATP and his 15" NEL. He has found silver my Nox missed. With the nox I found two mercs in one hole. Put the plug back. Scanned the hole again, and moved on. Kid scans the hole 30 min later and says, 'Dad, I think you missed one." Yep, there was a third...

Found a dime looking for a nickel!

Did a 7" deep Rosie test later at my mtn redoubt-- none of my detectors would hit it. The soil is completely drenched-- perhaps that impedes depth?

Found a dime looking for a nickel!

This one is a head-scratcher. Ron called me over and told me what was going on. I'm like, "hold my beer." I proceed to throw every etrac setting at this 6" dime-- nothing was detectable except for some faint iron falsing. The EMI was bad today, but I wasn't too effected at this spot...

    Broke Etrac

Supply chain and labor issues are effecting them like everybody else, I would wager. For my biz, what used to take a week now takes 3. Supplies getting hard to find.

    E-trac vs. XP Deus II.

I should mention that with the NEL 12x12 coil I was using at the time, the Nox had the edge on depth. With my SEF 8x6, I don't think that is true at all.

    People Planting Finds

When my kid started getting into the hobby, I planted coins for him to find. Wow, was he angry when he found out. So, you may plant coins: don't tell your kid and don't make youtube vids about how amazing you are.

    E-trac vs. XP Deus II.

@Nauti-- I completely agree. Whenever I see guys comparing machines, and it is above ground, I switch to another video. Total woo woo-- showy crapola. When I test machines, I have both in the field. It is a pia, but it is the only way to really make a comparison. Or, I'll hit a spot with...

CTX3030 Target ID chart for 4 modes

    I have not alot of gold, but mine rang up: 10k men's ring 12 12; women's thin 10k band 09 12;

    People Planting Finds

People cheat. It is the way of things-- whether it is a canned elk hunt at a ranch in MT, or a guy trying to be a famous detector on uboob. Guys that find amazing things, every time they go out detecting-- I call bs.

This is NOT a loaded question for the legend... to those that had already purchased one..

Ronstar has been making some nice finds with his new toy-- areas we have gone over with: etrac, ctx, nox, f5 and f75. One always wonders if it is just swinger's luck or if the machine has something the other's don't. I sold my nox for various reasons listed above: crappy depth meter; nox...

Took The Legend to the AdLawn and The Legend won!

Lower frequencies on the Nox were used in high emi areas.

    Road trip iowa

Sweet hunt. That's why I sold my nox. It found silver, but also missed silver that the ctx/etrac would zoom right in on, and not vice versa. If I sell my ctx, it is because of weight, not performance. I dig everything 12 40 and up. Thought I was digging a penny with the ctx and out popped...

    Tooth Cap

That's an unusual crown-- the tech took the time to put in tertiary anatomy, which I never see anymore. Upper left molar. My hunch is pre-1960's. Usually about 12-14k, probably some platinum and copper-- but its hard to tell from your pic. An honest buyer would probably give you $110 for it...

    High Voltage Warning

I've had rechargeable batts fail. One short circuited during charging and almost caused a house fire. So with that in mind, I really don't like the etrac charging system-- charge should shut off when the battery is charged, like on the ctx. Do you have a spare? The etrac batt that takes...

    Found rifle cartridge

From the 'net: In 1942, the U.S. Air Force determined that a dim ignition tracer was warranted - one that wouldn't blind the pilot. The T10 Tracer was developed during early 1943 and identified by a dull orange tip. It had headstamps of F A 4 and F A 45 and is not hard to find if you know what...
