    GTI 2500 vs other detectors

I'm wondering how everyone would rank the GTI 2500 against a AT Pro and a Teknetics T2 for hunting in East Tennessee. Right now, those are the 3 I am really torn between. I mainly do relic hunting but might do a little jewelry and coin hunting from time to time. Thank you!

Looking for 2 metal detectorists in East TN

I'm looking for 2 metal detrctorists in East TN. I know one of their names is Danny and am pretty sure they are from the Blount County area. One was from Germany and the other from Michigan, o believe. They're the ones that referred me to this site. Anyway, I've lost their numbers and am...

    T2 Update coming soon?

Are there any rumors floating around about an update to the F75/T2 lineup? I've heard First Texas has been working on a multi-frequency detector but nothing concrete. Are there any plans on making them run with less chatter or anything else? Reason I'm asking, I'm thinking about getting a T2...

    coil mods

Is it possible to modify the receiving coil in a search coil to make a detector more sensitive and better able to see deeper? I know most vlf detectors transmit deep but cannot receive deeper signals well.

    V3i users in East TN?

New Market? How's the v3i perform? I'm tired of borrowing detectors and want my own?

    V3i users in East TN?

Has anyone used a V3i in East TN? I'm curious as to how it performs in the red clay as far as depth, accuracy and stability.

Wanted to see if there were any V3i users on here. How do they perform? Any owners use them in East TN?

    Ideas for a new Garrett

Just had a few thoughts. When the AT Gold debuted, everybody, including yours truly, thought it was destined to be something like an AT Imaging, to replace the GTI series. I just had a little thought and would like to run it by all the md forums I can think of. What if Garrett made a version...

    GTI 2500 mods?

I'm thinking of getting a Garrett GTI 2500 for the imaging but, if I do, want to modify it. I'm wondering if it would be possible to add a little depth and speed but lose some of the weight. I'm also wanting to rig an adjustable arm rest. Has anybody tried these things?

Looking for 2 detectorists from Maryville, TN

A few months back, we had 2 guys metal detect on the family farms in New Market, TN. I need to contact them about some new leads on the old battlefield they were hunting but can't find the contact info they left us. I know they belong to a local md club for certain. I think one's name is...

Update on my search for a detector

I got a chance to meet Richard at Backwoods Metal Detectors yesterday, and he showed me a Minelab 705, E-Trac(his), a G2, GTI 2500 and an AT PRO. I was fairly impressed with their performance on the air test, keeping in mind that doesn't really tell you about in ground performance. I didn't...

    Advice

I posted in the general forum about considering getting a GTI 2500 and Gold Stinger or if something would be better. I was advised to stay away from these, because they are outdated. I wasn't too convinced that new technology is always better and was wondering what users of these detectors...

    How to reach Daniel TN?

I've been told that Daniel TN is an expert in metal detecting in red clay. I'm just wondering the best way to get in touch with him to ask a few questions. Thank you!

Looking for a good detector or two

My name's Justin. I live in Jefferson County in East Tennessee. I've been trying metal detecting and prospecting for a few years now trying to see if I'd be interested in spending the money on a detector or two. I'm thinking of getting a good relic detector and a good prospecting detector...
