    Different color scheme

this is something I am going to do. I don't use the icons either and did not realize even after reading the manual three times that I could do this... I really don't like that DIG IT! Maybe I should go ahead and upgrade to the "i"... i have put it off long enough. Everyone seems to like it, I...

Hey detector engineers... Dave and others... a request for you all to think about...

many of us are older, some are younger but will soon be older. Maybe some people keep a good back but, as for me, I have degenerative disc. I have it in my upper back but I can swing most any detector (according to where I am hunting)... however, the meter or screen... if I have to bend my head...

Computer guys... having a weird problem I can'r figure out... <NDC>

I wasn't sure where to ask this question since it doesn't really fit anywhere so... For the lst couple of weeks when I use Facebook I get logged out a lot... it is getting worse and worse.. not I am getting randomly logged out of Findmall. I have never had this problem before I don't know where...

    "Iron Mask" feature of V3

Rigght now I really enjoy it one day and am baffled the next. I've read the manual three times and ever re-written much of it into my own words trying to better understand it, some things are hard for me to grasp but I try hard. I tend to overlook little things and miss little things like I...

    "Iron Mask" feature of V3

Neil... you cannot say Minelab or "iron mask" on this forum... and Goat Rancher wants you to figure it out for yourself. There are some of us who never used a White's machine before the V3 and in case no one noticed, a lot of the terms White's uses for functions are different from the terms...

Hey Critterhunter or anyone who knows a bit about the Sovereign's inner workings... a question:

Do you know if there is any way to adjust the AUTO sens to run a little hotter? Thinking of the way the E-TRAC has the AUTO+/- adjustment. I don't have any expectations that the Sov could have such an external adjustment pot or but I wonder it there is an internal adjustment pot or possible...

Checked the voltage on both my Sov battery packs...

I have had Panasonic Oxyrides in the AA pack for, well... I don't remember... sometime in August and I used it some in the test garden. I've used it a about an hour this past week. I checked it with my multimeter and was amazed to see it reading between 13v and 12.99v... that is really good...

Filters, When To Use High Pass?

I usually use 7.5 band or high but I don't really know why... sometimes I will use 10khz band or high and some times 5Khz band or high... I usually find a target and match the frequency to match my swing speed for the best audio... but there really doesn't seem to be that much difference. I...

    Tones? Disc?

That sounds good, thanks. I really think the whole tone thing has been overwhelming to me. Especially in mixed mode.. if I turn on "tone ID" and VCO... then there is the threshold and base threshold, at which point I become confused trying to remember which does what and what I tweaked or what I...

    Not sure what this is?

What was the VDI? I want to look for one!!! Things like this are really cool finds. J

Not a comparison, but a question about capability..

Being overprotective of the V3 makes me wonder why it needs such defense. Can't even mention another detector here is a little much I think. Seems to me you asked a good question in a good way... but what do I know? I think the V3 can stand in its on and users can explain its use, some better...

Are you passing those shallow targets up?

Some great finds are really shallow... I have found CW eagle buttons laying on top of the ground. Once found a roundball (old musket ball) sticking half out of the ground. In parks i've dug tabs at 7" and old coins at 3". Once dug a zinc time fuse adapter from a 20# Parrot shellabout 2" deep at...

    Tones? Disc?

Thanks, I am going to work on it this weekend. J

    Low tech meter mod...

I modded my 180 meter today with black electrical tape and a cut piece of thin blue cardboard... now I have a nice little flap covering the meter. I can hunt be sound and then check my meter when I feel I need to. I plan to check it less and less and try to train my ears to the tones. We'll see...

    Tones? Disc?

How do you set your tones and your disc? Most places I hunt hold both coins and relics, some decent iron relics... so I like to set my disc to at least -40 and sometimes only disc out +95 Usually tone ID drives me nuts, shallow targets give too many tones and I tend to spend most of my time...

I think I know why I like ferrous/2-tone so much....

I think it is the simplicity of it.... it is like a hightech "beep/dig". The CO number gives a great TID (if you use a little disc) andwell, it is a simple lowtone/high tone... beep/dig. Also... 2 tone, at least in ferrous almost never falses when I use a slightly enlarged relic pattern. It...

I wonder if someone could design a detector that could auto-adjust to any coil you put on it?

I would think that with todays technology, pretty much anything is possible. Can you imagine a good detector, capable of good ID and of depth... just a good all around machine with the capability to adjust to any coil you put on it. I said auto-adjust but perhapsa manual adjustment would be...

Why does the Tejon deal so well with the "skin effect"?

The skin effect is more surface area... you can test your detector with silver dollars and probably with other coins but i've only tried it with Morgans. One SD will, on every machine, read as what it is BUT if you stack four or five of them it will, on most machines read as junk... not on the...
