    I just realized that the detector technology in my main detector (Minelab Sovereign XS) is now 30 years old! It was basically unchanged through all the Sovereign iterations from 1991-2005.     2 Sov. Coils.

    In my opinion the Tornado coil is better because it's a lot lighter. Just keep in mind there were issues with the sheathing coating peeling from the wires. If yours doesn't have the issue, it would be the only coil I use along with the 8" CoinSearch coil which is my all time favorite.

    Yeah the detector is almost 25 yrs old! Pretty amazing when you consider how the Sovereign has held it's own with all the "new" technology out there.
