Just ordered 10x12 SEF Butterfly. :clapping:

Are you replying to Jasons wish and implying we'll see a V-nulled butterfly? That would be just my luck.

    Custom Coin Program

Being a beginner avoid the deep silver program for now. I'd also avoid any "custom" programs right now. Most are too noisy for a beginner. Ease into the hotter programs by using coin and jewelry and when you are getting used to that start cranking up the sensitivity (not RX gain unless your...

Couple of questions about the V3

I'm pretty sure there is/was a conversion kit for the XLT/DFX. I don;t see why it wouldn't work for the V.

    Played hookey from work today.........:detecting:

Always important to remember (if I understand this correctly), lowering your filter to 5 and a slower recovery speed will generally run deeper (you'll hear the response longer) but WILL make you miss masked coins. Or, more accurately - you need more separation between a good target and iron for...

    Played hookey from work today.........:detecting:

I love the D2 coil and don't have a smaller one yet so it's what I use. Normally I use a deeper custom program using the 5 band filter and a slow recovery speed, but in this case because of the high trash content I wanted the higher speed the V is capable of and was simply using the stock C&J...

My V3 version is the 1.1 is this OK....

oh, the coil. I find the D2 not as stable as the 950 but the D2 works better (for me). Read your manual on how and air test. If your recommended gain is 8 or better (in the air) you're good to go.

My V3 version is the 1.1 is this OK....

There are no performance differences in the software versions. 1.1 is fine. Here are the particulars of each version. 1.0 = original Version 1.1 = Volume control fix. (some claimed the volume was too loud even on lowest setting) 1.2 = In house fix to use more than one brand of a IC 1.3 =...

    Played hookey from work today.........:detecting:

Got a call from my friend Ray today. He wasn't at work, He was at his favorite top secret old park with his buddy who had come over from the UK. He's taunting me about (me) being at work. :surrender: Well, I told my secretary I wasn't feeling well and out I headed to sneak up on him while he...

Any news on a rain/dust cover for the V3 meter?

I never use the cover with the intent to protect from rain. I use them primarily for protection from scratches and wear to the buttons.

Another good find with the 5.3

Hang, I'm coming to your area to hunt. :surrender:

Target Probe and/or Pin Pointer Question

Rob gave the good points - I'll give the bad. It's heavy, your machine will occasionally ground track and ground balance the ground to the pinpointer (not a huge issue because it will track back to the loop soon enough - just after you paas that barber half) and no matter how hard you try not...

Any news on a rain/dust cover for the V3 meter?

Hmmm..................I completely understand you usually get what you pay for...........so how does the Thesauras cover protect better? I'm in no way affiliated with the ebay seller selling covers. Just trying to throw out an option for a US seller with a reasonably priced cover with fast...

Any news on a rain/dust cover for the V3 meter?

BTW - screen covers had be had for about $15 on ebay right now (from an american comany) Took about 2 days to get it. They may not be as pretty as what cx3 in describing but they get the job done.

Any news on a rain/dust cover for the V3 meter?

For the XLT they were about $3 and easy to change. I imagine the V3 is similar.

    22.5 vs. 2.5

So this keeps getting brought up and I don't want to hijack another thread so thought I'd start one. Most people seem to understand 2.5 is the deepest frequency. For me, in my ground, I can hear a deep silver coin better with 22.5 - at least in my test bed. (That is speaking of single...

    V3 Scores Another V

You do know that whites has stated anything less than recommened 8 in the air is a bad coil. 15 is ideal.

Just got 5.3 coil from Whites

NICE! Another coin we don't see much of on the west coast. When I test drive a V3 it had a 5.3 on it. Nice stable and deep coil for it's size. I had my V3 coil coupon all filled out for the 5.3 and changed it to the Super 12 at the last minute. The 12 is probaby not the best choice for the...

    V3 Loops, and Recommended Gains

Thanks for cleariung that up Carl. I had read that coils needed to air test at 15 and my D2 was at 14 so I thought maybe there was a problem even though it seemed to be working fine. Nice to know I don;t need to worry about it.
