Vista Gold w/ Small Coil Testing

I finally got around to mounting my small coil on the Gold. With all the rain we are having, the soil is again digable, so its time to get out hunting again. I went into my test garden, and the depth on this small coil is amazing. I have 2 dimes and a nickel that my other machines are just...

Tell me some good things about a Cibola!

I have a used one on the way. Haven't owned a Tesoro since the Toltec 100 came out.. It was not a good fit for me , so I avoided Tesoro since then.. Time to give em a try again. I like the idea of a 2 lb detector. Sounds like they get good depth. I plan on hitting the parks, beaches and old home...

The more I use the explorer, the more I like the flutey tones.

I was at a new campsite today, getting bored , as my kids ran off in all different directions. So I pulled the explorer out of the van, set the machine up for skimming surface clad, as the stoney soil and hard ground, along with the 90 plus temps removed my desire to dig as usual. Those flutey...

Took my T2se for a stroll on the beach today.....

This is only the 2nd time out with the tootsie. The first time out at this beach only yielded a bunch of clad, and a bag of aluminum crud. I bought this machine as I needed something a bit more sensitive to gold. I dug alot of targets in the 40-70 range , hence the bag of aluminum. This 2nd...

Once you remove a plug, do you stick a magnet in the hole to pull any iron trash?

Im thinking on giving it a try, since my pinpointer sounds off on all metal. Many times there is iron in the hole along with the good stuff. If you do this, what lb pull magnet do you use?

Took my antique Silver Extractor Pro back again to back breaker beach

I decided to take the day off and get more experience on the se pro. Went back to the beach here in the Ozarks, where rocks outnumber sand by at least 100 to 1. I used the 13 ultimate coil, the 10 x 12 sef, and the 6x 8. The 13" coil is a depth monster. I dug a pull tab at 11". The Id kept...

Took my new Explorer Silver Extractor out for a test drive.

I bought a slightly used explorer se with 6 coils, dirt cheap, in July, but due to the hot , drought conditions never had a chance to try it out until this week. On Labor day, I only had half an hour to hit an old park I had never been to before. I put on the 6" excellerator coil, and dug a few...

So what kind of detector would you like Dave J to design next?

I was reading a forum owned by a Florida rocket scientist, and he gave Dave J a very positive plug......Has designed, helped designed, or has influenced 60-70% of detectors on the market today. In addition it that, Dave is very in tune and listens to the customers wants and needs! Ok Dave ...

Does anyone coinshoot in the prospecting mode?

And then switch over to pinpoint to try to get an ID on the target? Im reading that the prospecting mode is deeper, but of course no Id in this mode. Im just doin my homework before deciding. Years ago, the detectors had way more depth in the all metal mode, and when ever a deep target was hit...
