XT50 finds two gold rings today...

    Some XT50 45s

All these locked on 45 and were found on a saltwater beach in dry sand about 5" deep (actually moist sand at that depth).
I thought I had a nickel, but after breaking the "shell" off, I found a very thin wheat cent inside.

M6 Gold and Silver --- and black sand beach total.

I've taken the M6 back a few times to the black sand beach I hit a few days ago and these are the total finds. There are 238 coins including some wheat cents, a 1952 silver dime and a 1943 35% silver nickel. When...

The M6 in wet salt and black sand.

For my first outing with the M6 I decided on this bay beach tidal zone that I detected with my X-Terra 50 the day before. There is at least 1/2" of black sand on top of regular sand here. Also buried is much heavily...

2 hour T-2 wet salt sand beach hunt

What a big carton compared to the X-Terra's! Assembled the T-2 around noon Friday, plugged the headphones into the aft jack (where it should be) and took it out on the beach. Since there were some kids playing football in the dry sand, I decided to give them a wide berth and didn't turn on the...

The X-Terra 50 searches for a gopher trap.

Yesterday my wife's father called and told us he couldn't find his gopher trap. He thought a gopher had pulled it underground and wondered if I'd mind running a detector over the area. I told him I didn't think a gopher could move down a trap larger than his tunnel and besides it's mostly...

Good depth with the X-Terra 50 on the beach yesterday.

These all came from a layer of fairly hard packed sand/silt under about 7" of clean sand. Quarters read 42-45, Dimes 36-39-42, Nickels 12-15-18 and pennies 27-30-33.

Does anyone know how much detecting time is left (using alkaline batteries) once the battery icon flashes and the audio alert begins its every minute song? I detected about 20 minutes and replaced the batteries, but wish I'd detected to the bitter battery end just to know the answer to that...

Wow! The X-Terra 50 detects plastic!...

I took the XT-50 out on the beach this morning and it found this frisbee under about an inch of sand. My great-nephews will be able to make good use of it. Got a couple bucks of clad too.

The X-Terra 50 found a huge GOLD coin on the beach today!

NOT!
When I kicked some sand out of the hole and saw this fly through the air I really thought I had a gold coin. I figured it was a collector's rare or investment quality coin. (I've found a couple fairly rare uncirculated coins over the years that must have come from collections, so...

Anyone's X-Terra have a face tumor like mine?

Or maybe it's trying to grow a new button. Under the black arrow at top of photo.

Has anyone removed the protective film from their X-Terra LCD screen?

On page 11 of the X-Terra manual it says, "The LCD window has a protective film affixed to prevent scratching. This may be removed when the detector is fully assembled." I can't see where this protective film begins or ends.

The X-Terra is very good in trash, but...

...I hope a small coil will be forthcoming. I took my X-Terra 50 to another trashy dry sand area yesterday. This area has an enormous amount of the usual trash, nails everywhere and lots of hunks of melted aluminum from beach fires. In order to ground balance I had to clear away some trash. I've...

I like the way the X-Terra coil cover snaps on and is easily removed, but...

...a lot of sand, dirt and/or water can get in between it and the coil - most I've seen inside any cover. Much of it will drop (pour) out when carrying or tilting the X-terra, so if you own one, be careful inside your wife's house. Those little trails and piles of dirt could get you into big...

    1. Have you had the 30 and 50 running at the same time (maybe at yesterday's club hunt)? 2. If so, how close together without crosstalk (did the 50's noise cancel help)? Thanks, Bob
