    Equinox getting dumped

That timeframe will be a while though.

    XP DEUS II COIN SHOOTING...

I will be interested to see how it does finding coins at depth, say 8-9 inches in a wild hunt like this one, at that recovery speed. Just being the devil's advocate.

    rechargeable power pack

Y'all have a lot more stamina that I if you do a hunt long enough to empty a charged battery. I have packed a 10,000mah power bank and a charge cable for more than a year though. I figure I would make it thru a one days hunt. It's nice to have the gear for a charge in-between transits, but I...

    rechargeable power pack

No, I don't leave any batteries constantly on charge. Batteries today "like" less charge time. I keep my laptop on charge all the time though. Li-On batteries like less than 100 percent charge.

Does anyone use an F-Pulse pin pointer?

Can you hear or feel the batteries loose at all when you shake it?

Why I dont like the equinox 800

I do dig those also. They sound great.

Anyone run larger than 11-12” coils?

Any coil size past 13 inches defies the metal detecting gods limit for depth with accurate ID. I read that a long time ago, and I still bought 13 inch coils for two different detectors, and both gathered dust. IMO, 10" and 11' coils are the center coil size. The best bigger coil though has been...

One year with the Nox 800

I have always said that that little six inch NOX coil hits deepest of any 6" coil I've seen. It hit the deep 7 and 9 inch coin garden dimes just like you are seeing. "Looks is deceiving."

    New detector

I agree. Minelab did us a big favor by including 50 tones. It was natural for me. My mentor from the Explorer series after first getting into FBS, stuck with me solid for over 4 years. The Equinox with 50 tones as an option? Well, I never even tested any less tones. If ML would only give the Nox...

    Equinox 800 test results

I can't understand this either. Put 5.5 kgs in perspective. That is 12.13 pounds. At 30 inches a Bounty Hunter machine shoulda hit that signal.

How i hunt with a 6 inch coil

It is a mystery to me why Minelab hasn't already made an 8" coil for it, or allowed somebody like Detech to make one. Peeps would buy it just because it was an 8-inch-er, even if it only performed no better than the 6" coil. The 6" coil doesn't get enough credit, but people still rate the six...

    Hunting Sports Fields OK?

I won't detect inside a ball field or soccer field unless it is an obvious, run-down, not well maintained on a schedule. I am pretty sure an answer to my question is, "If it looks high class, stay on the sidelines and don't hunt the actual field." There are always variations of what pristine is...

Wireless headphones for Minelab Safari/fbs metal detectors

Back when I used the Etrac and Explorer SE machines primarily, I used (and still own), the WR700 TDK KLEER technology wireless headphones. I will still use those about any time I take a day and use my FBS units. KInda cheesy with the transmitter and the AAA batteries and all, but the latency is...

    Lesche Sampson T handle carrier

I have used a Ready Shovel carrier for years and hardly ever have the shovel bang my leg. It is the 31" Sampson, and I have the blade-bottom surface showing away from my leg when hanging. I do get leg bangs with it inverted the other way. That could make a difference. I'd never choose that...

I think my e-trac has the virus!!!.....

Maybe take the X-1 out and see if it still happens?

    Battery indicator lied !!!!!

It was news to me also. I haven't ran either of my Nox batteries lower than 2 bars so far. A lot of advice seems to be to not run them flat also, so I keep adding a charge soon after seeing two bars. I use a "battery doctor" gizmo along with a power bank which shows the current being supplied...

    Backlight is kaput

Sounds like you still have 2 years left on warranty if it was bought new. It might start working again. I don't like putting stuff in the shipping system till I have to.

    Battery indicator lied !!!!!

Maybe this has something to do with your ghost: "Battery experts suggest that after 30 charges, you should allow lithium-ion batteries to almost completely discharge. Continuous partial discharges create a condition called digital memory, decreasing the accuracy of the device's power gauge. So...

    Battery indicator lied !!!!!

Seems odd that the external battery pack didn't work though.
