My turn for a dumb question..

Who needs an exercise machine to pile clothing on, when you've got one of those things :-)

My turn for a dumb question..

My battery is actually mounted to the detector itself, not in a harness, because I hate to be tethered to anything. According to the kitchen scale, the detector with the 11 in. coil and battery is 8 Lb 10 Oz. With the 15 in. coil and battery it weighs 10 Lb 2 Oz. If I remove the battery as if I...

My turn for a dumb question..

I will try both of those suggestions, I'm going to Virginia sometime in October and I'm wanting to take the Deus 2 along with the GPX 5000. It's amazing how heavy that GPX can get after a couple of days swinging it, especially with the 15 in spiral coil.

My turn for a dumb question..

I have Minelab machines, this is my first XP, I know how to tell on the CTX when the ground is getting highly mineralized, and what to do about it when it does, but I have no clue on the Deus. I know it has a graph showing mineralization, but I don't know what to do if it's showing highly...

    Why no separate 9" coils?

I just can't see buying a spare coil that's only two inches different than the one I've already got. LOVE the 6" on my other machines. Where I hunt is iron trash anyway, I can only imagine what a 6-inch would do on a Deus 2.

    Why no separate 9" coils?

    I'm holding out for a 6" 🙄

    US Tones

That is my last "99" target, I would consider that a good Target, I've got it as an 800 Hertz tone.

CTX3030 Target ID chart for 4 modes

Thought I would add mine just in case I've got something listed you don't.

    Another outing...

Starting to get the tones figured out, shotgun shells sound good no matter what.

Took it out for another spin.

I will check it out, the majority of what I dug was can slaw, very irregular.

    XP D2 depth

I will be happy to follow along behind you with the GPX 5000 and let you know if you're missing anyting 😝

    Screen Protector ? Best one?

That's what I have done, buy the original Zagg for the biggest item you can get it in, then cut it for everything else. Have used it on everything from the CTX, to handheld radio screens. I am currently looking for another sheet of it. That stuff is dang near Bulletproof.

Took it out for another spin.

The small iron does sound scratchy and you know it's iron, the larger iron still sounds pretty good, especially the round rings (and was coming in as non-ferrous in the 70s). Aluminum still sounds good no matter what.

Took it out for another spin.

I think I need to get in good with the local scrap guy. Iron and can slaw, no coins.

Becareful deer ticks to the max

Pulled two off of me last night after yesterday's outing. The nice long-handled Snap-on pliers work pretty good when you live alone and the tick is below your shoulder blades!

    Day 2, same location.

Well its first coin was an unknown nickel, either a shield or a v, to toasty to be able to tell. Coins don't survive that site very well.

    Battery voltage

First day out with my shiny new machine.

My Deus 2 came in last week, I took it out for a spin today on an old home site from the 1840s. I definitely learned something, I pulled 5 38 Smith & Wesson empty shell casings out of an area I have beat to death with the CTX 3030, and all three coils. This is going to be interesting.
