Two holes different ending. Plus old local token!

Correction Ron, the Nox wasn't working.

While Ronstar is busy showing off... lol

Our schedules were at odds today-- I hunted in the morning for coin, then late forenoon for birds, then late afternoon we met up-- I found this little gem with the ctx. It was an iffy signal day, and I found this baby 8" deep in a spot I've been over many times-- just 4" away from a seated...

    Deep nickel VDI numbers

Honestly, the Nox sucks when it comes to nickels. 12 to 13 are the best reading: if the vdi drops to 11, I'll usually pass. Same with 14, but have gotten them anywhere between 11 and 14. 12/13 are the best numbers, but be prepared to dig lots of trash. Swinging the Nox, I usually just skip...

    Two in the hole

@Elmy-- stop it, you're killing me! Nox-- just had a cortisone injection in my hand. My hand is sore! Every oz counts right now. I might need more info on how you customized your units. A beep n dig could have found these. Weird: I found a copper memorial at 6" 2' away and these two...

issues ground balancing my Nox 600

I think the problem is your expectations, not the machine. My gb ranges from 20 to 40 in my conditions.

    Cautiously Considering A Nox

It is possible that the difference in performance was the result of iron bias-- my setting was at 4 and just left it there. Since then I've dropped it to zero, and need to start the experiment all over gain. Possibly that is why I feel I have to swing so much slower with the Nox, and have to...

    Two in the hole

Been a stellar week-- 2 WA's, an IH, 2 Rosies and a Merc. Today was slow. But finding two old nickels in the same hole is a first for me.

    Cautiously Considering A Nox

Thx Steve, For more than 200 hours I have carried both machines, using them as close to the same time as able. I'm a scientist, so I take that approach to things. In my soil, my CTX/Etrac hits coins the Nox won't register. On one hunt, the ATPro beat it-- my son's. I have taken the Nox over...

    '41 Merc

Fellas-- never pass a coinstar w/o checking. A sweet Merc plus $2.85 in clad in the till! That's silver dime number 3 for the year out of Safeway's CS. Won't upload a pic-- we all know what they look like..

    Cautiously Considering A Nox

Ronstar's F75 keeps up with any minelab on dry land. I dislike the Nox, but having hand/finger issues from some MMA mishaps, I have been swinging it the last few weeks because it is lighter than my other ML's. It does find silver, but I constantly wonder what I'm missing and when it's going...

    Nice Barber Quarter today

Every time I find a tearout, it has a foot of packed gravel under it. Swell finds!

    I'm Getting Discouraged..!

It wouldn't hurt going out with somebody else or buying a different machine to play with. In my soil, coinshooting, the Nox is my last choice over my other minelabs. I do take it out. It did register a Rosie that my Etrac located-- (high warble, 8" deep, high probability it was silver)...

When Ronstar is away, his buddy will play....

I didn't pay attention when the shovel brought it out of the ground, as a curious somebody walked right past me at that moment, so my eyes where elsewhere. My hunch is it was straight up/down in the ground, so my machine just saw a big silver dollar sized circle.

When Ronstar is away, his buddy will play....

Ronstar has some lame excuse for being out of town. So I went to a usual haunt, and about 100' from where he found a Peace dollar, I got a solid silver signal with my CTX. Much to my amazement, out pops an artillery shell. WTH? On the headstamp: '37mm Model 1916'. The AEF's bunkerbuster...

Here's the deal on the Equinox repair

$750 + 20 shipping you can buy a 3 month old Nox 800 plus Andy's book. Sticking with my CTX.

Four hours, a cast toy truck, a new to me token and the infamous WA State Tax token.

lol-- Ott Historical archives. Here's a pic of Sam:

Four hours, a cast toy truck, a new to me token and the infamous WA State Tax token.

Don't we have a rule that whomever finds a tax token has to buy drinks or something? Lol. Lots of digging. Lots of nails. My trade token is in way worse shape than R's, and they were only 100' apart. A cool find from last year-- a pig's ear tag with the name of the then property owner in...

Now I know why I loved hunting with the CTX.

Don't want to start a war, but I was a bit unhappy with the ctx-- then I bought a nox. Good golly it made me appreciate the ctx/etrac. Thanks for the tips-- I do run TTF with the etrac-- never done it with the ctx. I'll give it a try tomorrow at an old farmstead.

Now I know why I loved hunting with the CTX.

I've never tried that--- usually use AndyS with 50 tone conductive. Do you think that finds you more targets?

Now I know why I loved hunting with the CTX.

Agree 100% as well. My new Nox has found silver, but it misses it too. CTX is my go to machine, but can't let dust settle on the etrac.
