    Thomas Dankowski info ??

I follower Tom's forum for a number of years and even bought a couple of detectors he had "tuned". There was occasionally some good info but the format was ancient with lots of technical difficulties. After the forum software was modernized it just seemed to fade away with too many obnoxious ...

    Thinking about getting a Legend..

etrac and CTX fan here but using the Legend since its introduction when the others quit. It doesn't have the Minelab tones but has its own language and I have never felt like I have given up any depth or disc. Certainly more ergonomic and you can afford the extra coils , I like the 8 x 12 for...

What is your capital gain tax on that?

Do they make wind mills and solar panels?

Silver at $50 Gold at $4000

Pigs get fat , hogs get slaughtered! Find local buyers not big establishments to sell to and , for gods sake , sell in quantities small enough to not generate a paper trail unless you can somehow prove you have a high cost basis.

Silver at $50 Gold at $4000

The higher "spot" goes the lower the percentage of that you will receive when you decide to sell. The profit margin for buyers of your loot is pretty thin when you consider the downside risk they are confronting. They will rightfully be hesitant to cash out large holdings when staring down the...

Silver at $50 Gold at $4000

Spot is not , never has been and never will be. COMEX is a con game , continuous fraud , ignore it since it buys and sells fictitious contracts. Spot will never be the same until markets have closed and even then will constantly vary since it is traded world wide on different markets basically...

Low level lake = big silver, seated

Great finds!! Consider yourself lucky , most lakes here are State park areas and detecting is prohibited. You can run your 4-wheelers , motorcycles and dune buggies up and down the beach but you can't detect. More blue state logic at work!!!

    Cz3d Enhanced Mode...

I ran a Tom tuned CZ3d for a bit but the ergonomics and battery usage relegated it to the sale barn. Not a bad detector but never found anything exceptional with it but can't say I logged as many hours on it as I did with others.

Checking for Real or fake ?

Get an acid test kit , cheap on ebay and worth having behind the seat. 750 is 18k and will certainly pay for the kit:)

    Gold testing expert needed

Tells me you didn't get a very good test scratch. If plated you could get a good test and then have scratches from the base material underneath that dissolve. I don't just leave a "dot"when I test something but make a mark 1/4" wide and 1/2" long to really know. If it's gold you will hardly be...

Hip hip hooray, no more zincons!!!

Will the copper penny now by an item that can be recycled at the scrap yard for copper prices? I have close a 100 pounds of pre-82 pennies that would sure bring more as scrap than they will at the coin counter.

    WTB Coiltek 9X5 for a CTX 3030.

Cheap and Coiltek are oxymoronic. If you find a used one , be sure to buy it on a try first or returnable agreement. I had three back in the day and two were defective/broke.

    Price of a bolt

I used to frequently drill a hole in a penny to make washers in a pinch. Zinc washer the size of a penny costs about .04

Excellent video on “The best Detector”

I'll agree the Legend is the best value.

Threshold level. I want to vent.

In hot weather or where situational awareness is paramount I don't know why everyone doesn't have a set of Avantree Torus. https://avantree.com/products/torus-nb05-bluetooth-wearable-speaker?srsltid=AfmBOoqAx5obJTjBCh67JKIOvYKu8Cp2_nRaMc6MYbWABdCmYCz6meuW

    CTX 3030 My first Hunt

Back when I was running the CTX I found the 5x10 more useful than the 6 and got a bit more coverage. If you moved forward slowly I could see little difference in separation and you got a little more depth. This was a few years back and things may have changed but there were some reliability...
