Equinox running hot on nickels today...

Yes for sure. I only run in park 1 around here as I have it down perfect for the Illinois clean black dirt. I used to never run in all metal and now I always run it wide open after I tried it in a super trashy backyard. Went over the backyard once and got around 16 coins and about 20 pieces of...

Equinox running hot on nickels today...

They usually come in a little bit quieter and don't hit as hard as nickels do. I have almost been able to tell between them as nickels come in smoother and the deeper ones come in a solid 11-12. Dug a v nickel 8 inches down in bone dry dirt and it was at an angle. After that I knew I wasn't...

Equinox running hot on nickels today...

I have dug nickel signals out at my local lake which was built in the 40's. Have dug about 100 nickels and only 1 buffalo and 3 war nickels. The tongue on the pull tabs come in like a nickel for me when the sensitivity is over 20. Gets really annoying since I run in all metal to try and pick up...

Bucket list big silver after work!

I have only dug walkers. 3 of them and my dad has dug 2 walkers, 2 Bens and a 40% Kennedy. I don't think I have ever seen anyone dig a 90% Kennedy before. 33-34 is a little low for a half isn't it? The ones I tested were at 35-36. Either way what a great find!!

Hit a brand new (to me) park....part 4.....Gold?

I would have had to go and get a new pair of pants after seeing that come out of the hole! Super cool token though.

Finally got back out today and got that silver!

Yes was very surprised. First barber with a mint for me as well. Funny the other old coin that came out of this park this year is a 1914 S buffalo nickel. Park was founded in 1900 so that makes sense I guess.

Finally got back out today and got that silver!

Thank you! Felt so good to see that silver pop up after getting down to it with the pin pointer. Prettiest sight I can think of. Only my 3rd one ever.

Finally got back out today and got that silver!

Haven't picked up my Nox since early June due to the Illinois summer. Rained the last week off and on and finally the ground is cement. Went to a park I have found a few wheats, roosie and a buffalo at this year and decided to work a spot I haven't hit too hard. Had a signal that was a pull tab...

    Some more beautiful nickels

The shield nickel and the 1903 v nickel came in at a solid 12. Then the second v nickel came in as a 11-12 since it was kind of deep in real dry dirt. But a good solid signal to dig.

    Some more beautiful nickels

For sure! We are going back over every park and school yard and a few yards we have ever done and finding hand fulls of nickels and plenty of old nickels as well. We have walked over them and so have other people over the last 20 years. I found the 1901 v nickel in super dry dirt at about 8...

    Some more beautiful nickels

Dad and I went to another local park which has been hammered to death like every other place we go. He went on one side of the park and I took the other half. I meet up with him and he pulls these out! About 3 feet apart from them. An 1868 shield nickel and a 1903 V nickel. Then today we hit a...

    all metals

I have dug 100's of tens out at my local lake park where I have found 2 gold rings already and they are always chunks of foil or a piece of can slaw. I usually run on all metal so I hear all those lower grunts. But out at the lake I dig anything that beeps. I will dig probably about 200 holes...

    all metals

The settings that have worked great for me is park 1 on 5 tones and I knock anything below 11 out. My sensitivity is about 20-22. Iron bias is at 7 all while on multi frequency. I have dug wheat pennies 9 inches deep and an indian head at 11 inches. I have dug the deepest and smallest items with...

    BEAUTIFUL Buffalo Nickel!

Went to the new park I have been hammering. Dad got a wheat penny right off the bat and I walked around for a while and under this tree I dug 3 Jeffersons and then I got a real nice smooth deep 12-13. Popped the plug. Still down there. About 7 inches deep I see a red nickel come popping out. I...

Last few hunts yields some nice finds!

Been getting a little warm here so not out as much. Last week dad and I hit a ball field and he got the 1930 standing liberty. His first one and we also got 2 wheats. Next hunt was a solo hunt where I went to a park we have hammered. Walked on and within 5 minutes got a Roosevelt dime that had a...

    More silver

Hit another new school yard today. Fill dirt everywhere. Found a few untouched spots and got a real nice 24-25 and I was surprised to see this at the bottom of my hole. My 7th ring already this year. Other than this about $5 in clad and 2 wheats.

    Silver fever!

Yep. I pride myself in making it look like I was never there. Out at the lake I dig basically anything looking for gold. Still haven't found my first gold ring with the nox but it is coming.

    Silver fever!

Have had a good last 2 days of hunting. About 5 hours and about 300 holes later. Hit a middle school ball field from the 40’s. Got a nice sterling ring and a 1944 P war nickel and 3 wheats. Hit the lake which has been pounded to death and walked away with a 1943 P war nickel and a 1942...
