    What is this thing ? I have found approx 10 of these now over the last yr

    Seems these items come from old home and fort sites. At first glance, they almost seem like they could be some sort of drain strainer to prevent things like rings from going down the drain. They all seem to only use two screws as in this pic. The screws are always rusted. I am at a loss...
