    First gold this year

Had to put some miles on the old buggy to warm it up for emissions test so I drove out to West Valley Utah about 10 mi. From Salt Lake. I stopped at Centinneal Park and got out the D2. First signal was a 74. Dug two nickels too my surprise then hit a couple of clad dimes. Took a few steps and...

    Quarter pokey spill

My Monday morning park hunt yielded a 10 quarter pocket spill I think I passed over a couple of times before thinking it was a sprinkler head, and found a really thin silver ring that was masked by a couple of zinc cents. Wondering where the dimes are cause I usually find an equal amount to the...

Monday evening Park hunt lean picking nowadays

Also went out Monday morning in another area and only found 1.49. Hard to come out with gas money any more. Junk jewelry, mostly dimes , earrings a little kitty charm. Some kind of Carp charm, odd. Checking out different programs for nickels looking for that elusive gold stuff. Thanks for looking.

The weekly Monday Morning park scan for shallow stuff

Nothing surprising but a few more cheap rings than normal. Nice to start the week to get the legs moving. Thanks for looking.

First park hunt with the legend.

Didn’t go too bad found a little over 2 bucks in clad. The Anker usb storage unit was of course obvious before I got to it, Nice find. Some junk stuff and a Mercedes key fob. Typical walk around finds, didn’t take a digger just wanted to swing it over some stuff to get the feel of it. Nice. The...

    Took the Legend plunge

I bought Andy’s. Book recently and after spending a couple of weeks boning up on the settings, decided to take the chance and order one. I’m a little concerned the id spread is totally different than my other detectors. It should be here early next week.

    Silver necklace chain

After dinner park hunt I was rewarded this nice 24” chain stamped 925 and Italy on the other side. And dug this aluminum coin from India. Having trouble reading the date cause it is deformed. Also a couple bucks in clad but you all know what that stuff looks like so left it out. Thanks for looking.

    WS6 no backlight

The best solution I have found is the neck light book light. It recharges and is lightweight and perfect when wearing the ws6 on the inside of my left wrist to bring it up so I can see the screen in the dark.

    Parks are perking up

The last two outings netted a little more clad than usual. Found a pile of the golden dollars. A little bling. Will clean it and use it to buy gold nuggets at the prospectors meeting. A few wheaties, zip on silver. Did run into an older friend also detecting. He was 93. Another at 82. Can’t keep...

    Nice silver ring find

Went out yesterday after a local park event on Wed. Found the usual dirty clad cause others I guess beat me to the newly lost loot. Ring is stamped 925, needs shaped and cleaned up but has a nice stone. Thanks for looking.

    Today after dinner hunt.

Went back to hunting near the curb strip as before this evening. This time with the Manticore with small coil. Not bad no gold or silver but had fun. Some junk & better junk a few dimes and roached cents. The thing found that small piece of bling next to the dime at 3”. It read 50. Most of the...

    3D Metal Detector is here

Just got word of a new 3D detector made in Germany by OKM. Mighty pricey. Out of my price range at 37,000. Not sure my old arm can hold it out there.

    Manticore pitch frequencies

Any tech types on here happen to know what the tone frequencies are within the 0-50 setting range. The Deus has them and can be changed to suit easily. On the Core it would be nice to know at least what 0, 25, and 50 tone frequencies are.

    While Trolling the park

Yep I found a Troll. My weirdess find . Quarter is for size comparison. Appears to be made of a clay like substance, handmade due to evidence of fingerprint impressions. I have seen a character there that wears a black cape carrying a cross with hand crafted gothic things on chains hanging off...

    Quick walk around the park

Not much to rave about except found my 1st silver and 1st dollar coin this year. Just haven’t been out much. The silver is a Colorado 2006 proof silver punched and rolled into a ring. The dollar is a Sacaweegie. I never walk away from a nice washer🤣. Also one cheapie ring and a nice hard coat...

    My Manticore tone chart

Decided I needed to create a chart to give me a perspective on where I could use some discrimination if needed. I don’t discriminate usually. I like five tones all regions but made a few changes from the stock settings. I used targets I have found at the settings you see. Yours might look...

    Slide hill

I hit a local slide hill after it appeared to have been hit already pretty good. Most of the targets were shallow dug. Found my 1st presidential dollar of the year and my 1st rubber ring ! Nothing to rave about but was good to get out.

    Gaudy copper ring

I found this thing ring yesterday park hunting. It was really dingy and bent over from being stepped on. Anyway after brushing it with steel wool and straightening it it actually looks somewhat attractive I thought. Amazing what a craftsman can do with cheap metal. Thanks for looking.
