    Beach hunting shoes

If you want to keep shells and most all the sand out, try O'neil super freak 2mm tropical surf booties/shoes. Have yet to find any "shoe" that performs anywhere near as good as them and you can still swim fine with them (try that with diving booties,, and yes I'm a diver also). Their only...

How many are using the Excallibur II ?

Ran many excals, for many years, until the nox's came along and proved to be the better tool (exclusively freshwater here).

    Scuba Detector

Pulsedive with 8" head is about the best thing going. It has pretty good depth, a nice 8" swath, but can be blind to quite a bit of smaller jewelry type items that you'd think it should be able to see. Have had all the others, sometimes tried them twice just to be sure. The oldest one had such...

    Anfibio Multi with 7" coil

The 7” can be useful in old parks that have lots of old rusty steel bottle caps, id’s them as iron, usually, and can sometimes pick out coins when totally surrounded closely by nails on the same plain, but not so good, or not at all, if old nail pieces are above that coin. Got one spot thats...

    7" concentric best discrimination ?

On my Anfibio's, the 7" does well with old steel caps that fool dd's and the 7" does better than 9" does on them.

    7" concentric best discrimination ?

Can only speak for my anfibios. The 7” con id’s old steel bottle caps as iron and also other iron objects that dd’s often fail to id as iron. The 9” con doesnt do as well as the 7”, for some reason. Regardless of which frequency.

    Best Under Water phones

There are usually a few places that sell the NM waterproofs. They work well, but lack volume, especially if actually underwater with them. Your loudest waterproofs will the the yellow ones from Hungary on ebay, cuz they use actual speakers, that are waterproof pod like things, they have also...

Bad day for my new Anfibio's coil

Some one accidentally stepped on my new Anfibio's 11" coil. Cracked mid coil. Gonna give super glue a try to repair. What a bummer!

CORS strike coil vs stock coil AT Pro

Just did a quick comparison of the two. Had same size NEL for my AT Gold, also worked great. This Strike is nice, will be my main coil for in the water this season. Marked distances for 100% repeatable signals, at max sensitivity and -1 for each coil, quarter, dime, nickel and copper penny.

Switched from AT Gold to At Pro, first digs of the year...

After using an At Gold for the past two seasons, I decided to try an AT Pro this season (mostly water hunt). Had to get out in this nice winter weather to play in the dirt some. Local old park ground, loaded with trash of course. Also tryin out a new Cors coil (works great). South Bend. Got...

AT Gold (it's 1st day =1st Gold) great detector!

First day out with the new machine, went to a spot that I've hit numerous times with previous detectors. Using the 8.5x11 coil, it sniffed out a 1920 Canada one cent and also it's first gold ring, my first dry land gold ring (usually water hunt). This place is riddled with old square nails...

1st ring recovery dive of the year

Got a call about a lost Mason's ring at a yacht club in 10ft of water. The guy was securing his pontoon to the dock and the ring slipped off onto the abyss. It had been worn for the last 40 years, and he planned to hand it down to his son when the time came. Made the arrangements, grabbed the...

    Big lake hunt

Couldnt do much the past couple days due to the big waves and rains from sandy. The winds finally let up today, enough to get the waves down to 3 or 4ft. Most of the lake michigan beaches are sanded in even worse now than before. Managed to find an area that wasnt so bad today. No gold, but...

Barber at the beach this morning

Got a late start, but went back for another pre-work quickie this morning. Found this old costume ring surrounded with some sort of glass and my last target of the day ended up being a 1916 barber dime! The whole lot:
