    It appears minelab are aware of shortcomings on 600/800 and have improved things on that front and added a few extra features. Not a Legend user but think they are trying to claw back some things, trouble is minelab are still twice the price.

    i am still a several times a week 3030 user, tried a lot of other machines since i owned the 3030 from when it was released 10 or more years ago. always come back to it.

    How exactly does the 2D VDI on minelab machines work?

    I use the 3030 several times a week. Iron always is a low ferrous number I can reject stuff because of where the ferrous number shows. Equally if its 01/02 its a bear bottle cap.

    I had my anderson lower shaft fall to bits on me last month for my 3030. Very disappointed in that considering the price. I did reach out to anderson and considering it was purchased recently they are not stepping into help. Initially they said would replace but now they are not answering...

    I use both in the water. A little prep is needed on both before submerging. on 3030 an extra o ring under the usb cover and a bit of ptfe tape on thread. The battery grove and washer must be spotless clean before inserting battery. if its the newer battery that has additional rubber seal on...

    I think the ctx3040 will probably be great but It could be a while. The eq900 will be a long long time away. its very new in minelab terms.

    Anyone moved from the Nox 800 back to a CTX3030

    I use both detectors. The nox is great for just doing dry sand but serious detecting in sea is much better in my opinion with the CTX.
