I am leaving Findmall.....Moderator please delete my account.

I just signed on 1 minute ago and my 1st thought was that your supporters far outnumber your detractors. Haters have always been a small but very vocal group which is why they get more than their share of attention.

    success on the faraday shielding

Cant't say for sure since I never been married, but I'm guessing she would probably object to being put into that bag.

    success on the faraday shielding

If anyone remembers my post from a few days ago, I said that I would do an experiment on seeing if I could put the coil from a deus into a pouch which jams and scrambles RFID\NFC signals. These bags are designed to block unauthorized scans and protect personal information such as credit card...

    Alternate headphones

Am I correct in assuming that in order to use the ws4 puck on an offbrand set of phones just as grey ghost that one must 1st purchase the entire set of ws4 for about $250? I know that assumption is the mother of all foul-ups, but it looks to me that I would have to buy 2 sets of headphones in...

Faraday shielding of xp deus coil

I wouldn't call it a problem, it's more of a lazy man's curiosity about whether this would work so I could have the coil right next to me when I want it. I'm going to order one of these faraday cages to protect my other electronic stuff, do the experiment, and post the results whenever I get to...

Faraday shielding of xp deus coil

By working on the controller I meant fiddling around with making custom programs. I had the idea that if I took the whole kit with me I could show custom programs to someone without the coil picking up on surrounding pieces of metal. I know that these faraday cages are sold to protect cellphones...

Faraday shielding of xp deus coil

I just posted a thread on the technology forum asking if a faraday box would block the signal from an xp deus coil to the controller. If it does, I would buy one so that I could work on the controller without it communicating with the coil. Has anybody out there have any experience with this?

Faraday shielding of xp deus coil

I have a question for you techies out there. If I put the coil from an xp deus into a faraday box would it be able to communicate with the controller? I ask this because when I want to fiddle with custom programs on the detector I try to keep the coil far away from metal objects and the...

modification suggestion to recessed deus controller buttons

I recently purchased an XP Deus and I could see immediately wyhy one magazine reviewer who was asked to review the hobby of metal detecting called it "the worst hobby in the world". The thing that bugged me right away was the recessed buttons on the controller. I found a suitable fix for that...

Lost silver ingots in Bletchley Park England

Welcome aboard, hawgdawg! Now all we need is permission to hunt. Know anybody in Merry Olde with any pull?

    Permission to search for ingots?

Greetings to you Draco. No apology necessary. Thanks for your reply.

    Permission to search for ingots?

No, no, no, you misunderstand me, Draco. I am suggesting that a club or individual over there would get permission for the hunt. Or maybe your museum could get in touch with their museum. Or maybe somebody over there with some standing in the detecting community (Gary with XP Deus)? could get...

    Permission to search for ingots?

I wonder if the British government would give permission to a club to do a hunt on the grounds? They might not find any ingots, but they might find some interesting stuff to put in their museum. I did read that a search was conducted with a WW2 minesweeper with no results, but maybe modern...

Lost silver ingots in Bletchley Park England

I was watching a very interesting documentary about the Enigma code machine used by the Germans in WW2. The top codebreaker was an eccentric fellow named Alan Turing and a friend of his claimed that he converted all of his pay into silver ingots and buried them on the grounds of Bletchley Park...

    clad vs. silver,pitch mode

OK, just a misunderstanding. What started this thread was me wondering if a silver quarter would sound differently than a clad in pitch mode, if they were both buried at the same shallow depth. That was an interesting misunderstanding, though. Could pitch mode be used effectively for...

    clad vs. silver,pitch mode

From reading the manual, I got the impression that tone breaks can not be used in pitch mode. Is this correct? It's kind of frustrating not having a Deus to experiment with; however, thanks for your input.

    clad vs. silver,pitch mode

Yes it is and would this be a good way to cherry-pick shallow silver? Could you turn the discrimin. way up to about 85? I guess this would cut down on depth, but would it be OK for the shallow silver, assuming there is some? I need to get a Deus so I can test this stuff myself! Thanks for your help.

    clad vs. silver,pitch mode

Thanks for the replies. I guess I had more of a technical question rthan a practical coinshooting method. That is, I know that in the pitch mode the depth and size of the buried object will change the volume and the frequency of the tone. LTimedigger suspects the difference in alloys will also...

    clad vs. silver,pitch mode

Don't have a Deus yet, but I was wondering if a silver quarter in pitch mode would give a higher tone than a clad quarter. I watched the relic pitch program by Calabash in which a silver ring gave a distinctly higher tone than a clad quarter, but I could not find a video where a direct...
