Help in finding Minelab metal detector

Maybe if you buy alkaline ones. I bought some Eneloop batteries 4 for $12 about 10 years ago that I still use. They recharge for less than 1 cent for the electricity. If you find one for the Nox today for $20, let me know. All I see are $29-35+ and I am not sure how long they will be...

Anyone have any feed back on the Fisher F-5?Thank you.

No, the F2 was the inexpensive one and it was still pretty effective. The F5 is way more advanced. And you don't have to worry about membrane switches wearing out.

% of accuracy of the x-y screen?

It seems to me to tell you what you already know. A good tone and small variance in VID will give a relatively straight line in the correct quadrants. A not so good tone will scribble all over the place with no hint as to being a good or bad target. Listening works much better than watching...

Help in finding Minelab metal detector

In my opinion, most people here will sell their internal battery detectors before the warranty runs out. If not, they will pay $40 or more to install or have someone else install a new battery. I won't pay that much to recharge my AAs on my dozen or so detectors in a hundred years. Will the...

dfx and vx3 finding gold jewerly

DC phase is simply very slow variable retune threshold based all metal, almost like pinpoint mode on some detectors like the T2 or F75 or more like the static all metal on the F75. It can be used at the same time as the disc mode and gives a good indication of target size by the length of the...

Tesoro 7" Wide Scan - any advantage?

I have all three DD 5 pin coils and prefer the two larger ones. If I could only have one, it would be the largest but the 5 ⅜ inch concentric is by far my favorite and 8" round, second. For extreme nail infested areas the 4 inch can be quite valuable too. Good luck finding what you want. IMO...

Help in finding Minelab metal detector

Any Vanquish, 340, 440, or 540, would fulfill all the requirements listed and are about the best deals for SMF detectors on the market in my opinion. None of the ones recommended above use AA batteries or are as simple to use as the Vanquishes.

    rechargeable batteries

Eneloop pro, Eneloop white, EBL 2800, and the highest Mah Tenergy ones all work great. The first Eneloop pro batteries I bought 10 or so years ago are still working very well. So far I haven't seen a lithium rechargeable AA that has the same capacity or longevity of the NiMH ones above. I do...

Tesoro 7" Wide Scan - any advantage?

The Wide Scan is pretty heavy for its size, the 8 inch not so much. The 7 separates very well and seems as deep in my heavily contaminated sand. In the less contaminated parks and lawns, the 8 is deeper. It doesn't pick out nonferrous in iron or close to pull tab as well as the 8 but it is...

Dang it! I just bought one or I'd be all over it. Great price Daniel!

    Manticore coil screw

Manitcore coils don't use ears, they use a solid block. The ears are on the lower rod. No more ears breaking on the expensive coil. If they break on the rod, it is much less expensive to replace. The user didn't need plumber's tap or thicker washers, just needed to stick the bolt through the...

    Manticore coil screw

One side of the lower rod has a hole on one side that the bolt can slip through, the other is threaded like a nut so it doesn't need a separate one. My Vanquish is similar except the "clevis" is on the coil instead of on the lower rod. If you start the bolt from the wrong side, it won't tighten...

    Manticore coil screw

I saw on another forum the answer. The clevis on the lower rod is threaded on one side. It was on this side that the poster installed the bolt. It didn't work because it wouldn't pull the other side of the clevis, When he switched it to the other side, then it pulled the clevis together...

    vista detectors

I just checked my Vista X. It will disc out a quarter! I started with a zinc cent, then moved to a copper one and finally a quarter. It disced them all out. I admit I never knew that because I never tried it before.

    Going way back comparison

We are all headed there, my friend. The leading cause of death is being born. All we can do is make the best of it. May GOD have mercy on us all.

    Manticore coil screw

The Minelab website shows the lower rod has a clevis end, not the coil, and the washers are on the coil. They show 2 round washers, not the tear drop shape of the Equinox. Teflon tape sounds like a good idea as does shims under the washers.

    XP Deus 1 HF coil

You might try deleting and reinstalling the coil on the remote. It helped my elliptical coil and worked on the pinpointer too.

A Few Things That Helped Me With the Legend

I agree with what you said both times. The process of finding out was what I was attempting to do but, without a metronome, it would have been impossible to tell the difference. I am well aware my soil (GB 85+, FeO2 .3 according to F75 and T2) is way worse than Dankowski's and very similar to...

A Few Things That Helped Me With the Legend

It is not my idea. It used to be Dankowski's modus operandi on the F75. He measured with a dime above the coil and used the deepest frequency. I agree moving the coil too fast will interfere with separation but not so much with depth.

A Few Things That Helped Me With the Legend

When I was trying to see which noise cancel allowed the deepest discovery on my Legend, I found changing the sweep speed made more difference than changing noise cancel channel. When I increased the speed passing over the coil, I got more distance. Lay a target on the ground and raise the coil...
