    Andy’s Book

How long until Andy Sabisch book on the Core is for sale? Are his books typically out before or after the detector is actually released? Thanks

    New Nox 800

Not true. Joe demarco bought the business.

    New Nox 800

What is the consensus on VLF probes versus PI probes? It seems the probes with PI technology go deeper and aren’t effected by ground mineralization but they do not seem to be as popular. What am I missing here? Why are the VLF probes so much more widely used? What are the drawbacks to the PI...

    New Nox 800

5900 that is interesting. What is the negative side of tip only? The drawback I could see is if your target is off to the side of the hole you might not have enough room to angle the probe enough so that the top is pointed towards the target. Otherwise it seems like it would be the better...

    New Nox 800

Thanks Ted. Any dislikes? Any issues with the power button like sube had?

    New Nox 800

That’s all good info sube. Thank you. I didn’t know about the button issue. What I like about it from what I’ve read and seen online is that it’s deeper than most other pinpointers and how it only pinpoints out the tip rather than the whole thing, which most if not all others do. It’s a little...

    New Nox 800

Anybody here using the Whites Bullseye TRX Pinpointer? Reviews look as good if not better than the carrot. Any interference issues with the Nox? Does the TRX hold up well long term? Thanks again

    New Nox 800

Thanks again. The Garrett carrot seems to be a no frills favorite of most. The Minelab has a nice feature of the ferrous indication sound and the XP rechargeable feature is very nice, but the price tag is high on that one.

    New Nox 800

Thanks a lot for all of the replies so far. Interesting that another New England hunter (I am in Mass) prefers the field setting over park for park hunting. It is going to be interesting when I get out with this machine and start trying to figure it out. I am planning on buying a handheld probe...

    New Nox 800

Thanks for the replies guys. Personally I will always choose the maximum amount of variability is both audio and visual options. I would prefer to have the maximum amount of information from the detector and make determinations based off those myself.

    New Nox 800

I see that there was a recent software update that is available as well. What is the consensus on that? What improved with the update? Is it the best available version? If not, which version is? Thanks again

Thank you for the replies so far. Good point about the sweep speed as compared to the explorer.

    New Nox 800

So I jumped in and bought a Nox 800. I was an Explorer user for a long time and became very proficient that machine. I’m sure the Nox will be quite different. I’m not sure when I will have time to take it out and try it, but I have a few questions. First, I have been reading a lot about problems...

    Nox 800 Mods

Now that the machine has been around a while, what modifications are recommended for this machine? Are there any that are considered “must do”? I have read a little about problems with the cam locks. Is there a fix for that yet? I have also read about people changing out the stock shaft a lot...

    A Few NOX 800 Questions

Thanks Mark. It’s interesting to hear the opinions on the Nox versus the Explorers. Minelab themselves say outright that the FBS machines have advantages in finding silver coins over the Nox in all conditions.

Will we ever see a light weight CTX ?

Sube since you mentioned it, how exactly do you feel the Nox compares to the CTX? What type of hunting do you do? What area of the country are you in? Thanks

    A Few NOX 800 Questions

Thanks guys. Ron you are correct. I have been detecting on and off for many years. What part of MA are you in?

    A Few NOX 800 Questions

Thanks for all of the replies so far. I was going to buy a used Explorer SE Pro because I can pick it right up and start digging good targets immediately as I have a ton of time on the explorers and am very proficient with it. However, the swing speed and the lighter weight of the 800 are 2...

    A Few NOX 800 Questions
