    Tried the small coil out

I had a brief chance to try the small coil out for the Vista Gold. I hit this area previous and it is littered with nails and can slaw. Was looking for musket balls and maybe some Indian brass points. The coil did locate a bunch of non ferrous targets (mostly can slaw) but also hit on a deep...

Is this what is responsible for target trace?

Just a wild guess but did some of this technology creep into the CTX 3030 trace feature? Every time I use mine, I can't help but imagine it is somehow seeing into the ground differently than previous. http://www.minelab.com/consumer/knowledge-base/news?article=94868 I love my CTX 3030 by the way!

    18x15 SEF Coil Compatibility

Does anyone know if the 18x15 SEF coil from the GPX series fits the E Trac?? The connector looks the same, but not sure if it's wired the same inside. The big K has two different stock numbers listed. I hear the 18x15 still finds some pretty tiny targets for such a large coil.

    One question?

I read through everything and I see a lot I could / would use. But one line stuck out from your blog. I hope it's not a misquote LOL "With the implementation of Target Trace, we now see real time

Past 10 days finds... No dead pets in this one!

Hey Magic, Nice finds and I love the Old token. If the no. 9 pin is kinda grayish it is probably not a pin but a tack. They are window tacks and they are used to match the storm windows to the correct window in old houses. Windows were all custom built in the day, and you had to keep track of...

    Prayers

Hey Mike, just the fact that you were even able to detect after all you have been through is a miracle. Give it some time. I think you have done incredibly well so far. Seems like they (and you) did an great job. I hope little by little you will find the confidence in your recent success. In the...

    Prayers please!

Hoping for the best for you Yazoo. As someone else said, there is a lot of treasure to still be found and some of it has your name on it Mike. Best wishes and prayers.

    Last Weeks Finds

Not sure how much color distortion is on that picture from the camera or flash, but it does appear (like Larry said) to be a light to medium Blue Topaz. Unless the stone is really scratched up, then it may be glass. All the glass stones I have found (a lot of them circa 1900), have been very...

First nice coin in a while for me!

Neil, we get a bunch of them George coppers, and a lot of them read low. That is a sure sign it is a counterfeit. De-basing a coin is the only way to make a profit on it. Little did they know we can tell by the numbers on our machines that it is a counterfeit. Nice find!

    Went for the V3 then . . .

Carl, I had that Coinmaster V Supreme back then:yikes: One heck of a machine!!!

V3 or not to V3 that is the question

I don't own the V3, but I do have an E Trac. I have tried many different ways of hunting with it (wide open, all metal, heavy disc, barely enough iron disc) and I am luke warm to that machine. I hunt cellar holes mostly, and for me, It does not respond as well as I expected it to. In a park...

Coinshooting / high trash deep coil

I would guess that they could make an 8" coil, especially if someone else can. The question is will they. Sometimes it's all about the economics of it. Maybe sales were too low on previous 8" coils. May not make sense to them. Just a guess though.

Question: All though my DFX coils will work, I should really replace them with the new V-coils for maximum depth and usage of all the V's tweaks?

Naw, it's old like me:rofl: If they were to replace coils that old, they would be out of business. I don't mind buying a new coil. I had some fantastic results from using that one. Thanks Larry!

Question: All though my DFX coils will work, I should really replace them with the new V-coils for maximum depth and usage of all the V's tweaks?

I guess I said it wrong:rofl: I think my 4x6 coil is degrading, not the DFX. I can still use the 4 preamp on my other coils, but no longer on the 4x6. So I assumed it was the coil. I was thinking that the new V 4x6 should handle a pre amp of 4, so I could get the depth I was previously getting...

Question: All though my DFX coils will work, I should really replace them with the new V-coils for maximum depth and usage of all the V's tweaks?

I was hoping that the new V coils would handle the preamp better. I used to get a pre amp of 4 on my old 4x6, but now can only get a pre amp of 3. I was hoping the tighter tolerance for the new coils may allow me to crank the pre amp up? Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.

Colonial hunt plus some. No coppers....but

Went to a colonial site we hit before. Dan and I got some nice hits. We then hit an old house that I received permission to hunt. It was a dream location, until the neighbor said "the guy who owned this place dealt in scrap metal" :rofl:That hurts!!! My DFX chattered all evening long. But did...

    Saturday's colonial hunt

Went out with a couple of buddies hunting a two sites we hit before. They were always good to us and this day was no exception!! My friend Dan got a Gorgeous 1787 Connecticut copper and an 1859 Indian. I found a nice gun piece, 1919 wheat, old picture frame, buttons, a nice little turn of the...

    The V3 comes with training

Thanks Willee. I think this issue will need to be addressed at one time or another. White's has always been top notch with it's service and products. But as far as training dealers, I don't think a couple of hours training is gonna make any dealer very knowledgeable on the V3 or any future...
