15” Coiltek questions

Whitetail

Member
Thinking of getting the 15” Coiltek for my Etrac. Anyone have one? Comments on what you think about it appreciated. Also, how come they have one that has ribs in the middle and one that does not and is open in the middle. Thanks for your comments.

I don't have a 15"Coiltek coil but I was curious why there are two options available as you asked. I went to Coiltek's webpage and they only show the 15" Treasureseeker All Terrain coil with the ribs in the middle. I found the 15" Coiltek coil without the ribs (open in the middle) on a detector store's webpage. I would recommend the coil with the ribs because in my opinion, it will be less susceptible to breakage if it is used in rocky or wooded areas.

Open middle is an older design. Had the newer design with ribs and it was heavy. Think the older open one would be better balanced and lighter.
