1754 STAD UTRECHT?????

Ohio bud

New member
Got out Sunday to the Square in Painesville. It is quite old and some coins back to Seated have come out of there. I got the worst signal reading 12-44, but sounded very strange, nothing like a penny and showing 10 inches. It did repeat in both directions, so I dug it. I can not find out what it is, but the 1754 seems old. Anyone know what this is? Got about 8 Wheat Pennies and an old button with writing on the back. No Silver.

Stad Utrecht I believe is "City of Utrecht". (Dutch)

Dirtflipper,

Thanks for the help. I will cut and paste that section and send it to a friend in Holland to convert to English. I think that is the oldest coin I have found in the USA.

By the way - remember all those things you said you'd do "when you got a round duit"? Well, guess what....
