1827 large cent today and a couple from the last hunt

spent the whole day in the woods.....one coin. 50 degrees and fresh air sure felt good:thumbup: this was the third large cent from this cellar hole and sure was hard to find. it was about 8 inches down and on its edge.....got to go...the old lady is rampagin' -mike
 
Congratulations Mike. I'll just bet you swung a long time to come up with the finds....if so your determination and dedication paid off. Thanks for sharing with us.

ok im back...women's are CRAZY! found the other coins a few days ago. i got ahold of some topo maps of my area from 1904 and it shows where all the old houses stood. a few quick comparisons with google earth and BANG!....got some new places to hunt. research pays off. anyways, good luck to everyone. -mike
 
still after 30 years detecting off and on, I have yet to find a large cent.............of course here in the Midwest, it's not exactly an easy task compared to out east.............but hey, maybe this will be the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
