1851 pattern Eagle Sword Belt Plate found today!

I found this civil war buckle today in the rain and drizzle . The button was also found , don't know much about it. I went to a site where I've got silver the last 4 times in a row. Found a 1918 half there 3 hunts ago. The buckle is a sword belt plate with the attached silver nickle wreath that has been removed. Never thought I'd find one of these. Called my brother Ron from Michigan before I left the site to look it up. I knew as soon as I popped it up it was civil war. This new site for me has produced a 1726-1760 british penny also along with some nice silver. I use the f75 ltd with a sunray probe . I usually run as close to max sensitivity while in boost mode. I might have pased over this on a nice day , but it was nasty out and I had the inviro cover on and dug about every solid tone . It came in as a solid 85. Thanks for looking , Kevin from Virginia.

I found this China thing a few hunts ago 10 inches deep at an old site . Don't know what it is , it's about 6 inches across. Thanks for looking , Kevin from Virginia.

Fantastic find Kevin, congratulations........:clapping:

Yeah thanks , the sight was just one of those yuppy dog walking parks . But the whole area is old and there are miles of trails on a wooded hill side. This could be one of those places where i could spend months of detecting . Thanks , Kevin from Virginia.

Some great finds! that large chinese "thing" looks like chinese cache coins we sometimes find around here in old ghost towns. But they are only the size of a quarter.

Kevin,I guess the Barb dime you found today at the site isn't worthy of a post, anyway great find.Maybe this August we can get Elton to join us for the Buckeye Hunt.Later Ron
