1873 TOKEN

Johnnysod

New member
I dug this token at a 18th century farmhouse that we have been digging for about 4 years, and I am amazed by what we find.

Cool find...appears to be from ROYAL ARCH MASONS of abbington according to a quick google search i just did...

Yes, it is Masonic, but actually a Mark Mason token. Has a specific meaning. Maybe call the chapter and return it. No value to common folks.

This is what new one look like. I recieved thse in Oct this year. Also the date is when the Chapter was constituted, not the date of the token. .

Nice find - mcb613 nailed it for you. I recently dug my first one.

Very nice !

These tokens are usually presented to a New Mason during his initiation ceremony. Most Masons including myself never give these away. There is usually at least a 100 copies but only one is given to you.

Daddy, I hate to disagree with you, cause its against the code. However, just to clarify that this particular token is not " for new masons" , at all. It is specific and associated for higher work. As you probably know, we cant speak about the details and meaning. Have a good holiday , Bro.

Thanks looked at it a little closer and you are correct. I am a Past Master but stayed in the Blue Lodge only. Our lodge a few years ago reached its 100 year anniversity and we made a couple hundered of these. Of course it stated our lodge and the date it started. I will try and scan it for you when I get home.
