~1877 CC SEATED QUARTER DUG TODAY~

New member
today met up with a new friend, and his cousin just bought an old house and he took me there to hunt with him. Not sure the exact age of the house but we are told it is around 1830 to 1850 range. It has over 10 acres there, so finds are spaced out big time. You can wander sometimes for 15-20 minutes without even getting any signal at all.

This is the first time I can remember any hunt where my silver out numbered my wheats! I got one wheat, one 1945 canadian penny, 1883 indian, 1953 silver quarter, 1920 merc dime ............and and NICE
1877 CC SEATED QUARTER!!!!!

Kyle just started detecting and got an ace 250, and that is what I started with 3 yrs ago, so I taught him how to pinpoint and when I got signals I would call him over and let him check them out, he found his first ever wheat, 1938, and he also got his first ever silver coin...a 1950 rosie!.....Another friend was with us and he got one indian, one wheat, and a 1942 Walking liberty half dollar.

So that makes 5 silver from this yard so far and only 3 wheats, that is my kind of yard!

here is my finds for the day

Congrats Terry!!!!! Well with 10 acres you have a place to play around in for a while and I'll take the sounds over thousands of them in these local parks lol :) That's what so nice about old home steads...

well the buddy who took me there lives over 2 hours from me, so I am not sure when if ever I will be able to go back because the house belongs to his family member. I am more than thankful for him taking me there for one day and allowing me to hunt!!!

Man that will get ya fired up to do some diggin for sure. Congrats on the finds and what looks to be a great spot for some time to come. HH

well depends if you want to give it away or not? a lot of people see a nice old silver and instantly they think it is worth big bucks. I have had homeowners see indian pennies I dug and thought they were real valuable. So I suggest you do not show real nice coins you find unless you plan on giving them away.

Here is why I had this happen twice, a homeowner told me I could keep whatever I find no matter what, well after I was done they wanted to see finds and I showed them, then they decided they wanted the indians. A lot of homeowners say to keep whatever you find because they assume there is nothing to be found, but then you spend hours searching, find a nice coin for your efforts, show them and they want it............hmmmmmm. Doesn't seem like a good deal to me!

Nice find! Congrats on the CC!

That's one beautiful Seated Quarter Terry - great job finding it !
