1906 Canadian Dime

It has been lean lately

Been going out alot especially because the ground is not frozen
and we have had many sunny days (except today)

But I found this lovely 1906 Canadian silver dime in a huge public park in the dark with a head light and my ET

When you find silver in the dark and the moon is out the silver glows:)

When I knew winter was coming, we bought head lights because I did not want to stop detecting
until the ground was frozen
As we all know the days become shorter and at it's worst it is dark at around 4 p.m.
I end up spending alot of late afternoon and evening hours waiting for our youngest son to complete
his extra curricular activities
At least twice a week we are an hour away in a very historic area and it just made sense

A funny story is we have been in several parks in the area and a local Law Officer recently approached me
It was dark and it appears that the park closed at dark, However, the Officer confirmed this was due to
the teenage population and drinking,etc, and he would not approach in the future because he had spoken to me

There are at least 3 law enforcement persons who have approached us during detecting and all have expressed
the desire to take up detecting or in one case, he had just gotton a detector :)
 
Nice Silver!!!...I have found that night detecting seems to always involve a talk with law enforcement...whether someone calls them or they just notice you on their rounds. I have never had a problem though, I even detected right in front of the courthouse/cop-shop one night! They thought it was cool!

I haven't seen many of these posted over the last few years. I bet it did have a nice glow to it in the moonlight.:thumbup:
