1946 Texas House No Luck

Was able to check an older house in Arlington, Tx... built 1946, and no luck to me it had thick St Augustine grass and very soft soil, In 2 hours I found 9 clad quarters average 7" deep and 10 clad dimes very deep up to 8-9 ". and 16 memorials and 1 wheat penny 1948D. I only checked about 1/3 of the front yard as I was getting worn out. Being a 1946 house I know some older silver is there but I'm not getting to it. Very clean as just about every sound was a digger. I used the basic coin program .....I'm going back again but I could use some help and suggestions to get the deeper coins that I know are there. I found very little at shallow depths. Coins seem to sink very fast there.

If I did anything Herb, I'd probably open up your FE line. At least down to 20 or so. Try that. Those are some deep clad for sure. Another thing is to venture in to manual sensitivity and start to work it up as well.

Sounds like some fill has been added to the yard maybe, that would put the good stuff very deep.

Yep I agree, they have added fill dirt, very odd for clad to be that deep. If it were me, I'd find a new spot, why waste your precious time on a spot like that? I have a general rule. Follow almost religiously, a lot of people would not agree with me, but that is fine. If I don't get a keeper within an hour I go to a new spot. And I don't mean a wheat either, I have dug so many wheats I don't classify them as a keeper anymore...lol. I consider any nickel before 1938 ( buffalo) or any silver coin, or Indian a keeper.

If the site does not give up at least one of those in an hour with my buddy and I both detecting, we pack up and knock on another door. There are thousands of houses, why waste all your time on a place only producing clad?

Like Neb Trac said and also Bryce,s settings you could up your sensitivity to 26 go up with your gain from 8 to 10. and slow down.
8 to 9 inches on dimes arent bad ,if the wheaties are there , possibly could be silver on the other 2/3 of the yard. Good luck!
