Got my first piece of silver today. Only a Roosevelt, but its a start. Got my Etrac a week ago. Trying to get the hang of it in some of the parks in town. Total of three hours of hunt time, found 10 wheats, one Indian, and the Roosie. All have been right at 8" deep. I am wondering how deep the oldies are.

Great finds. The Etrac is a great machine. Paid for mine the 3rd time out with a 1850 $20 gold coin. Keep on pounding the ground.

Congratulations on your first silver. And just one-week after receiving your E-Trac. That's better than most beginners, including myself.

I only got into detecting seriously in the last 4 months and upgraded to the ET about five weeks ago.
I'm always re reading the owner's manual, Andy's book and the posts in the forum - sure has been BIG HELP !
I only have 50 to 60 hrs. on the ET at this time.
It took me three and a half months to find a my first 100 coins - it only took me seventeen days more to go from 100 coins to a total of 239 coins.
Some of these coins were very deep - near trash and even under large pieces of wood !
Once I started getting more tuned into what my E-Trac was telling me - things just start popping out of the ground !
The E-Trac is FANTASTIC machine !

Good Luck ! - Mark

Sounds like your doing just fine
