I had just posted on the forum and said I got the itch to go detect.
I decided to dig everything that I knew was a coin and pass on iffy signals. It is dark here around 6:30pm so whatever I dug I used my pinpointer (vibrapointer) to find with no flashlight. I was using my 4x6 coil so pinpointing was super easy. I dug a handful of clad out of the yard, I have pulled somewhere around 40$ out if it by now. I had been passing over shallow signals in the gravel because I thought they would all be new targets. I was detecting off to the sides of the driveway and had a bunch of clad going. So I put it all in my cargo pocket and came inside when the dog started to think I was nuts. I was washing the coins and looked down in the bowl and saw this uncirculated gem, an 1887 S Seated liberty, my first one. Not bad for a 2 hour hunt.
Nothing fancy set on the detector just my little coin program with a 45 recovery delay and swing slow. I dont even know which target this was but it may have been right on the surface to 2" deep. I am loving this detector and all its ways of identifying targets. God be blessed.
