2nd Gold ring this one W/Deus2

I went out to gat a prescription refill and stopped by a small park on the way home to check out the toy lots. As I was sweeping grassy areas torwards the lots I got a clad qtr signal, moved on to a shade tree near a little creek. Got a 90/91 so thinking probable dime but I find with this machine 89’s are always a dime but 90’s are sometimes copper cents. So I did. Bam at 2/3 inches up pops a gold ring. Had left my phone in the truck so just pocketed it until I got home. I saw one of the tot lots they had removed all the equipment except the tot swings. Found the sacaweegie and the rest of the clad around the swings and beat feet home to check out the ring. It had good weight and the color was similar to another gold ring I found years age that was marked 24k. So took pictures and cleaned off to see the marking. It looked worn flattish and I couldn’t make it out. Took to the nearest Jeweler and he said it was gold and out of country. By the feel ha. Said it was good gold 21or 22 k. I asked if he could test it and he said no. I asked you don’t have an acid test kit and he said no. I will get it tested somewhere. Just elated on the find. Oh by the way on the way back to the truck I say quite a few areas where shoveled had been. He missed this one though.

Nice gold ring!!

I do not understand how copper cents / pennies can register higher than a dime.
Anyone else with a Deus 2 experience the same thing?

Maybe the 1960’s cents have more weight to them so they register higher?

It bothers me a lot for the same reason. It seems to be all copper cents on my Deus anyway. Could be because they are a few millimeters larger. Sometimes I can get a slight tonal difference and can call it before digging. Dime or copper. Go figure.

Nice finds nice ring I got a 24K ring this year shocked me

Way too go. Now here is a picture of both rings. The 21/22 k on the left the 24 K on the pliers. I don’t remember where I found it but it was a few years ago and probably with a Garrett.. I just swung the Deus 2 over it and it checks 91/92. The other one checks 90/91. Now I have found that my 4 largest gold rings check up in the zinc cent range 84/87. This includes 10k class ring to a size 13 14 k mens ring.
Notice the coloring of these rings are the same. Very distinctive. I don’t know the origin but a lot of Muslims use that little park . Could be Syrian, Afghan, etc. even East Indian.
