6" Excelerator Finds

I bought a new to me 6" Detech Excelerator coil for working trashy sites. I took it out this afternoon to a Indian Wars era site that we have pounded with numerous machines. It is super trashy in some spots and that is where I went. I was very impressed with the little coil's ability to separate and was able to pull a few goodies out of the iron. I found my first pulled bullet...a .45 Yankee Colt. Also, a early primed case that has no head stamp a few yards from the .50-.70 case. Most impressive find (for the detector/coil combo) was a small fired pistol ball in heavy iron.

Great job with the little coil, Dean. That is a lot of nice lead to pull from a pounded site. Love the pulled bullet. I found my first ram rodded 3 ringer last week sitting right on top of the ground.
 
Thank you, cz70pro. The E-Trac may not be a fast machine in the iron but with a small coil and some patience it can be deadly.

Some nice finds right off the bat there Dean! One other thing,and don't tell anyone this because there will surely be backlash of all kinds...I have personally NEVER had ANY problems with FBS in iron. I really don't know why people say it's not the tech to use around iron. Keep it coming,it WILL come.

Thanks! I have to agree..but we won't tell anybody. I'm headed out in the morning for a three day nugget and meteorite hunt with the GPX. Keep the finds coming!

The 6" Detech Excelerator coil is a fantastic coil and that is an understatement !
Used mine for approx. 4 years ( till it shorted out ) - countless great finds in the iron, lot's of 7" + Dimes on cleaner ground, etc.
