Good for you, CONGRATULATIONS . A find of a lifetime !!!
I'd be a dancin fool over that one !!! :super:

as they are EXTREMELY rare. In this case with a two pence, also extremely small. Congratulations hardly seems enough. I hope you take the time to write out the story of the find for one of the detecting magazines; if you get Western & Eastern Treasures you could submit it for their 2010 Find of the Year. Congratulations again on an awesome find!! :super::super::super:

I spose my old eyes jist can't see that small #2. lol

like but my being a newbie here I figured he would probably think I didn't know what i was talking about. A good rap with a hammer might do it too. Touch it up with some sand paper and it would be worth a buck or two:thumbup:

check my change :D That is a beautiful coin!

Heres an idea of what the Rocker Press looked like that made some colonial coinage :)
Each piece of silver was loaded in by hand and went thru the dies and fell out the other side.

Here is an idea of the type of Rocker Dies Used, just an idea :)

Now most of the Mass Colony Silvers had a curve too them because of this feature too produce them, they didnt always come out Flat :)
Then there are the ones in fields that got hit by a plow a few hundred times :D

I really pizzed a guy off. He was asking how to clean coins found in fresh water. You know, water blackens silver pretty badly. I told him to take the coins, lay them on the coils of his electric stove when they were cherry read and then toss them in ice water. Man he got mad at me for messing with him and trying to infer he was stupid.

Hahahahahahha Problem was, I was a sorta newbie at the time and that WAS the way I did it. Heck, the only way I detected was scuba diving and I had lots of silver coins. I honestly didn't realize how much time it took to find them on land. I remember dives where I got 25-30 silver coins and that is the way I cleaned them. I soon was informed I was an idiot. It did take the black crap off though :D

I told another guy later to take them and duct tape them to the tires of his car and drive around the block. It would take the crud off in a hurry. :D I was screwing with him though.
