Got out for just under two hours today. Recovered 5 flat buttons, what may be a LC, an "F" Company Infantry button (cant find in my button books), and a Draped Bust LC. Maybe someone can give me a positive ID on the button. Cant read the backmark. Thanks
Keith

very nice couple of hours congrats

I looked in Albert's Button Book and couldn't find an exact match. The closest I saw to that design, was military (National Guard units) and mostly in military institutes (schools). Perhaps there is a military school near your area, that was around for a while, that starts with the letter F. Nice finds, love the Draped Bust!!!

WOW great finds!

Internet for info on the Infantry button, I ID'd a find from over the summer that was dug with the Etrac. A cuff button I found that I believed might be more than just an ornemental, turned out to be associated with Cherokee Indians that fought along side the Confederacy during the Civil War.
