A few TID numbers.....

I know that there are charts available for many of the US coins. And, I also know that TID numbers can vary with soil conditions, depth, angle etc..... But as I was going through some of my coins this weekend, I decided to scan some of them (air test) that I've not seen the numbers posted for. This doesn't mean someone hasn't posted them. It just means I haven't seen them. I found it interesting how much variance there is between like coins of the same vintage. Here is what I found, using my 6 X 8 butterfly coil...... If there are more than one number for either ferrous or conductive, that means I tested more than one of these coins. I also posted a few that surprised me with their TID.

Thanks Randy . I did the same kind of test this past weekend also. What It tells me ,is that you have to dig all high numbers since you really can't tell what the coin is with the ET. I find the EX is much more accurate on target readings compared to the ET (both sound and numbers ).
The ET is faster , but you guess allot more with it.
Thanks

Thanks Randy-----Some of those IH's (even though they have the same "composition makeup") can give a fairly wide (different) spread of TID #'s.---Especially those conductive #'s seem to go fairly low on some of them.---That's been my experience anyway. :)---------Del

I agree that you can't determine a specific denomination of coin, simply by the Etrac TID. But I attribute the differences in these "air tests" to the coin and not the Etrac. My reasoning is because when I checked them with several other TID detectors I have, without exception, there are comparible conductive variances with each detector. The coins that read lower on the Etrac also read lower on the other detectors. I scanned each coin multiple times. And no matter how many times I passed a specific coin under the coil, the TID was consistent. In the case of these coins and this test, I believe it is the composition of each coin and not the accuracy of the Etrac TID. JMHO HH Randy

Thanks for taking the time to post these target numbers !
