A little luck never hurts!

Had a few things "cookin," so haven't been swinging to much the last couple of days. The dust finally settled about noon, so headed off to a modern era park for a little coin shooting and of course, the hopes for a jewelry piece. I headed straight to the middle grounds of the park and spent close to two hours digging every foil, tab and nickel reading, all to no avail, for anything gold looking. In this endeavor, I did manage 9 quarters, 14 dimes, 3 nickels and 15 zincers and a pocket full of trash. Finally deciding trash digging was growing old, I started a zig zag path off in the direction of my vehicle when I got a shallow lock on 90 reading with the Omega and it was just screaming, "dig me." I flipped over about a inch deep plug and laying on the bottom of the plug was a sterling silver ring. If I had zigged instead of zagged, that baby would still be out there. So, "a little luck never hurts." Had the 10" coil on and sen 99, disc1, d3 tones and g b of 61-63. HH jim tn

Well..if it warms up as promised...I will go out today. And I am wearing my Teknetics hat this time.....we'll see
Its a totally hammered park...scanned by every high end detector for the last 30 years including Trac's..V3i's....etc.
We shall see if this hat has the 'JuJu' :)

You gotta believe Jim is just genetically wired for silver...he's trying to modify himself to be attracted to a gold coin, so I am waiting to see if the transformation takes hold...I think it will.:clapping:

Okay...wore the hat today. Found maybe a dollar in clad after 5 hours. However, the dog poop was everywhere in abundance. At the end of the day went 2 miles across town from the park to my quiet spot, mostly to relax from severe trash, clad & dog doo overload....and the hat's JuJu kicked in....a really beautiful 1942 Merc dime in EF++ grade at 5" and another $1.00 in clad. Yes Jim, I will be wearing the 'hat' next time:)

I broke out my old Teknetics hat this morning and wore that. It seems to have some JuJu too. HH jim tn

Cool ring !!!! silver is silver !!!!

You just ain't a kidding there Jim!!

Took out my little used Omega to a field next to a firehouse along side a road that's low hay type grass, sandy gravelly type soil, gb'd it then I cranked the discrimination to max, and I ran 75 sensitivity, as this used to be a field where they had carnivals on the 4th of July when I was a kid and earlier back in time so I expected it to be really trashy. I walked about 25-30 ft from the rear of the truck out into the field while sweeping get the first hit and I got a high 90's hit in 3 tone, it said 3" when I pushed the PP button. First target of the day so I dig it and out pops a Walking Liberty Half Dollar 1944 my first half ever!! Mint condition no staining or anything looks like it was dropped just after someone got it with little circulation. WOW lady luck and God shined down on me today. What a nice chunk of silver too. Man I got to get me a camera sometime so I can post pics on here and videos too. Guess that will be something for me to do and learn this year. Found no other silver like I was hoping for just clad. I may have to wander over this area a bit more tomorow just in case before I give up on this field but I think it's been hit before as this and junk was all I found besides 4 clad quarters a couple of clad dimes and a couple of copper pre 1982 pennies.

Hit an old ball field next to a 70's era school that I hadn't been to for a few years. 1st target from the corner of the backstop read 80, with a high tone on the Omega. From 3" deep I popped this little 925 silver ring. It is a whopping 1.0 g. Also got a 44d wheat cent and $1.87 in clad and zincers. Had on the 10" coil. Hope everyone found some goodies this beautiful weekend. It sure was here in W Tn, anyway. HH jim tn
