a probable cure for power line interference

New member
been pondering over the interference problem we get near power lines etc with the T2 and i have come up with a possible solution .i had a spare clip on ferrite suppressor as packed with a lot of digital camera kits .the idea came from the fact that these are fitted as standard on the u.k version of the DFX .its very easy to fit takes about ten seconds and holds well on the coil lead without slipping .
due to heavy snow i have not been able to field test it yet but it has enabled me to run the T2 indoors o.k something i could not do before .i'm not sure if the positions right but a bit of playing around should find out .
no doubt someone will come up with some theory as to why it wont work but at the moment its fine so i'll keep you all up to speed .see attached pic of the suppressor if you have one give it a go .its not a permanent fitting so nothing ventured nothing gained

The version for the UK,rhos complience T2, will let you run the T2 after ground balancing out side, in the house no problems at all ,and power cables or other T2 users no problems at all also .even running in the high 80,s near over head cables .are you users over the pond able to do this please, let us know what you can do .

The function off the ferrite what does it do, and how does it work .would be interested in this

tried one no benifit at all where I DETECT , still got to give coen a clap for trying .:clapping:

but make sure you get the right diameter for cable .i got best results with it halfway up the cable .limited success works near some pylons not near others ,but for a couple of bucks its worth a go .

Jeff @, I imported a T2 ,it had very bad intereference from day 1 ,finally it broke down and is being repaired ,It was awful. I only had one detector ,and the T2 has just come out in the UK,I PURCHASED ONE ,a total different machine to the previous T2 I had used, we all know the rhos in the uk is to comply to lead free solder ,and I was comparing what I had used before and now ,hope that clears it up .
