Ok, brace youself, here goes.
Detectors I have owned:
Garrett GTA 500: always liked that detector
Garrett Ace 150: hated it
Garrett Ace 250: way overrated in my opinion
Garrett Ace 350: the best of the Ace series, which still doesn't say much
Garrett Scorpion: Enjoyed it.
Detecortpro PiratePro: cheaply made.
Detectorpro Wader: Never could get the depth I wanted.
Detectorpro Pulse: A very good pulse machine.
White's M6: Didn't like the weight, otherwise a good detector.
Fisher 1212X: pretty good, but I like the Compadre much better.
Fisher Gold Bug Pro: A nightmare of a machine in trashy areas.
Minelab X-Terra 305: too slow to recover
Minelab Sovereign GT: too heavy, but this one I often regret selling.
Minelab Excalibur 2: Never liked the engineering or the tones. Just not a Minelab guy, I guess.
Teknetics Omega: most erratic, chatiest machine I ever owned. Drove me nuts.
Tesoro Silver uMax: good detector, upgraded to the Golden.
Tesoro Cibola: the high tone modification is the one to get. Regret selling this one.
Tesoro Tiger Shark: didn't really work well at my salt water beaches.
Detectors I currently own:
Tesoro Compadre: the tot lot/gold king!
Tesoro Golden uMax: love the tones, especially when I just want to coin shoot.
Tesoro Sand Shark: my favorite PI machine for the beach.
Don't think I'll be changing that combo for awhile.
