Active Analyze Screen Freezing up ???.

Has this happen to you. I was out with new V3 MDing. After 31/2 hr. of MDing. The V3 pick up on something. So I Pinpointed it. then I went to Analyze Screen.
I went over the target when it beep. It would not stop beeping after moving it to the right and the there was a black line slightly to the left It was vertical. No
blue, green, red bars. It was if it froze up. Went back to active search to clear it. then went back to Analyze Screen went over target it did the same thing.
the third time I try ed it this time all three lines were flat line no curves. ???

When that happens to me, it is usually a trashy target.

Analyze is a little finicky... here's what I do when it's having trouble. First, use pinpoint to locate the exact target, and make sure that there are no other close-in targets. With the coil off the target, flip to Analyze, but wait several seconds before sweeping. Do a single slow deliberate sweep over the target, trying to get the target reasonably centered in the sweep. Wait for the results to be displayed, then do another single sweep in the opposite direction.

Most trouble with Analyze comes from trying to use it too quickly, or from excessively trashy ground.

Hi,

So what was the target? You've only told half the story. Your detector told you something. What was the answer?

The trick to learning any detector is to listen and look at what it is telling you, then dig up the item to see how that correlates with what the detector told you. So the real question is "what target gave you this response"?

I am going to find out. I did not dig it up. When I get my Vision back from White's I will go back and find out. After it happened I zoned out. After all I was swing for 4 1/2hr. The good thing is I know right were it happened. I will be back to do some testing.

Thanks Carl I remember now. I turned the Analyze right over the target. So it overloaded. Yes i did trying to use it too quickly. Well I out to long 4 1/2 hr.

Hi,

Detectors do all sorts of things. Take a beer can, smash it flat, and bury it an inch deep. It will not give you a nice, normal coin response. Oddball targets produce oddball responses. Once you know what kind of target caused your detector to respond as it did you will have information you can aplly the next time you get that type of signal.

I had the same thing the other day but I didn't dig it up either. I wasn't getting the real good repeatable audio and I was running out of light. I was getting some scattered responses right next to it also. Like junk was all around it.
