Ah, that sweet "DOUBLE" September Sunday Silver

After putting off my plans for a Saturday morning hunt due to the rain, I got out this morning for a little bit if Dirt Diggin'.... This was one of those type hunts where you really have to slow down & listen good because the ground here has been hard as a rock in most places, so the soil was a bit testy IMO with the deep saturation from the rain water.

I've had a place picked out for awhile and after about an hour of digging those Lincoln's I finally got a tone & number's that I liked. even though that first good target was trying to hide, I circled it and dug my plug, sure enough, about 7 inches down, I found a fresh, but wet clump with a nice Washington Quarter in it. before I head home, I found another just about the same way to match the first one... So, it was a sweet hunt as I finished with the 2 Silver & 5 Wheat's, thanks for looking, DirtDiga

Very nice, good for you. Only found one Washington silver quarter this year. I have
only hunted public places so I guess they have been thinned out over the years.

Cool finds; it's been a couple of years since I found two Washingtons in the same day. Is it typical for coins from the 40s to be 7" deep in you area? Around my neck of the woods I'd expect anything 7" deep to be pre-1920 the vast majority of times.
